OXCT1-mediated succinylation of SLC25A11 protects against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting ferroptosis
Abstract Protein succinylation is increasingly recognized for its pivotal role in cardiovascular pathophysiology, yet the specific function of succinyl-CoA:3-ketoacid CoA transferase 1 (OXCT1) in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury remains to be fully elucidated. In this study, we identify OXCT1 as a critical anti-ferroptotic regulator that protects the myocardium against I/R-induced damage.

Real-time electrical monitoring of enzymatic catalytic dynamics at the single-molecule level
Abstract Monitoring enzyme structural dynamics is essential for elucidating catalytic mechanisms, yet transient conformational fluctuations on microsecond-to-millisecond timescales remain challenging to resolve with conventional techniques. Here, we investigate the catalytic dynamics of cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1) during benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) metabolism by measuring single-molecule protein conductance.

Enteral feeding timing and clinical outcomes in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy undergoing therapeutic hypothermia: a retrospective cohort study highlighting the challenge of confounding by indication
Abstract Objective: To analyze real-world feeding decisions in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) undergoing therapeutic hypothermia (TH), assess potential confounding by indication, and clarify how this bias may affect the interpretation of the association between feeding timing and clinical outcomes.
Homoleptic and Heteroleptic Carbones L1-C-L2
1 Introduction Carbones CL2 are compounds where a carbon(0) atom is bonded to two σ-donor ligands L through dative interactions and in which the four valence electrons of carbon are retained as two lone electron pairs with σ and π symmetry. It means that the carbon atom of carbones has the formal oxidation state zero, which distinguishes it from carbon(II) in carbenes and carbon (IV) in most carbon atoms (Scheme 1).
Treatment of congenital toxoplasmosis with pyrimethamine combined with sulfadiazine in a Chinese neonate: a case report
Abstract This work reports a case of neonatal congenital toxoplasmosis in which the standard regimen of pyrimethamine combined with sulfadiazine was administered under conditions of limited drug accessibility in China, with multidisciplinary collaboration and long-term follow-up. The infant was a male born at 36⁺⁶ weeks of gestation. Postnatal serological screening and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) next-generation sequencing (NGS) confirmed the diagnosis of mildly symptomatic congenital toxoplasmosis.

Prevalence and clonal diversity of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae causing neonatal infections: A systematic review of 128 articles across 30 countries
Neonatal CRKP strains exhibited diverse clonal backgrounds with sequence type 17 (ST17), a globally disseminated lineage Identifying epidemic lineages of CRKP seen in neonates is crucial for informing both treatment and prevention. We collected data on the ST of neonatal CRKP strains from all included studies, among which 69 reported data about STs of 1,145 CRKP strains. We additionally included the 204 neonatal CRKP genomes not linked to any publications.

As such, molecular markers are urgently needed.
Effects of iron deficiency and exogenous sucrose on the intermediates of chlorophyll biosynthesis in Malus halliana
Loading metrics Open Access Peer-reviewed Research Article Aixia Guo, Ya Hu, Mingfu Shi, Hai Wang, Yuxia Wu, Yanxiu Wang Aixia Guo, Ya Hu, Mingfu Shi, Hai Wang, Yuxia Wu, Yanxiu Wang Published: May 6, 2020 https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0232694 Figures Abstract Malus halliana is an iron (Fe)-efficient apple rootstock growing in calcareous soil that shows obvious ‘greenness’ traits during Fe deficiency. Recent studies have shown that exogenous sugars can be involved in abiotic stress.

Porphyrin-based imine gels for enhanced visible-light photocatalytic hydrogen production
Porphyrin-based imine gels assembled from small molecular precursors have been developed as a novel type of catalysts in hydrogen production from water splitting. The gels offer chemical variety and hierarchically porous structure, and are susceptible to modification via porphyrin metal centres. The Pd gel shows cathodic electrocatalytic activity to produce H2 when coated on FTO electrodes.
Gold nanoparticles confined in imidazolium-based porous organic polymers to assemble a microfluidic reactor: Controllable growth and enhanced catalytic activity - Journal of Materials Chemistry A (RSC Publishing)
A synthetic strategy is developed to grow Au nanoparticles supported by imidazolium-based porous organic polymer (Au/IM-POP) along the inner surface of a fused-silica microfluidic capillary. The thickness of the hybrid Au/IM-POP material layers is tunable by changing the precursor concentration.
Serum Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9 in Differential Diagnosis of Benign and Malignant Pancreatic Cystic Neoplasms: A Meta-Analysis
Using serum carbohydrate antigen 19–9 (CA 19–9) in discriminating between benign and malignant pancreatic disease remains controversial. We aim to evaluate the diagnostic value of serum CA 19–9 in predicting malignant pancreatic cystic lesions. Eligible studies were identified through searching MEDLINE and EMBASE prior to March 2016. Studies were assessed for quality using the Quality Assessment for Studies of Diagnostic Accuracy, 2nd version (QUADAS-2).
Probing the Chemical Structure of Monolayer Covalent-Organic Frameworks Grown via Schiff-Base Condensation Reactions
Two-dimensional covalent-organic frameworks (2D-COFs) on surfaces offer a facile route to new 2D materials. Schiff-base condensation reactions have proven to be an effective fabrication route for such materials. We present scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies of porphyrin 2D-COFs grown at a solid-vapor interface.
Reintroduction of a Homocysteine Level-Associated Allele into East Asians by Neanderthal Introgression
In this study, we present an analysis of Neanderthal introgression at the dipeptidase 1 gene, DPEP1. A Neanderthal origin for the putative introgressive haplotypes was demonstrated using an established three-step approach. This introgression was under positive natural selection, reached a frequency of >50%, and introduced a homocysteine level- and pigmentation-associated allele (rs460879-T) into East Asians.
