NEDD1 stabilization regulated by hUTP14a and FBW7γ axis safeguards mitotic cell fate homeostasis
Abstract Accurate spindle formation is vital for mitotic progression and genomic DNA segregation, with γ-tubulin ring complex (γ-TuRC) mediating microtubule nucleation, and NEDD1 serving as its essential recruitment/anchoring adaptor. However, the mechanisms underlying the regulation of NEDD1 remain largely elusive. Here, we identify a pathway that controls NEDD1 stability during mitosis.

Protein entanglement misfolding influences whether proteins undergo proteasomal degradation or persist in near-native misfolded states
Abstract A novel class of protein misfolding involving changes in entanglement status occurs across the bacterial cytosolic proteome and likely exists in many other organisms. Here, we test whether this class of misfolding has measurable consequences for protein homeostasis by examining its relationship with ubiquitin-mediated proteasomal degradation immediately after protein synthesis.
Numerical simulation and experimental verification of ballistic performance of SiC ceramic/hybrid fiber composite armor structure
Abstract Unidirectional (UD) sheet composite materials are key materials for high-performance structural components in fields such as ballistic protection, aerospace, and new energy vehicle components, owing to their high strength, low weight, and excellent fatigue resistance. Among these application trends, ballistic protection materials are evolving towards lightweight design, high strength, superior ballistic resistance, and excellent environmental adaptability.

Pre-therapeutic prediction of cachexia in lymphoma patients using [ 18 F]FDG PET radiomics of muscle and fat
Abstract Cachexia adversely affects treatment outcomes in patients with lymphoma, highlighting the need for early risk identification. This study aimed to develop a predictive model using [¹⁸F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose ([¹⁸F]FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) radiomics features to identify lymphoma patients at risk of developing cachexia.

Efficacy and Tolerability of a Triple Acid-Containing Serum Combined With 0.1% Adapalene in Mild-to-Moderate Acne Vulgaris: A Randomized, Open-Label Controlled Trial
1 Introduction Acne is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the pilosebaceous unit characterized by the formation of comedones (blackheads or open comedones and whiteheads or closed comedones), papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts, affecting approximately 80% of adolescents and young adults [1]. Among the earliest pathogenic events in acne development is the formation of microcomedones, which represent the precursors of all acne lesions.
Development and validation of a prediction model for infection in chronic nonhealing wounds: a two-center retrospective study with external validation
Abstract Purpose: To develop and externally validate a pragmatic and interpretable model that predicts infection risk in chronic nonhealing wounds using routine electronic medical record data. Methods: We conducted a two-center retrospective study at two tertiary hospitals in China. The primary cohort (N = 500) was split 7:3 into training (N = 350) and testing (N = 150) sets with stratified allocation; an external cohort (N = 300) was used for validation.

Beyond resorption-driven coupling: a multi-layered framework for osteoclast–osteoblast communication and its therapeutic consequences
Abstract Skeletal homeostasis depends on tightly coordinated communication between osteoclasts and osteoblasts, yet the molecular logic governing this coupling remains incompletely understood. This review reframes the osteoclast–osteoblast relationship by integrating developmental biology, molecular signaling, and translational perspectives into a unified analytical framework.

A data-efficient 3D medical vision-language model using only a 2D encoder - Scientific Reports
Abstract The demonstrated success of Vision-Language Models in 2D medical image analysis has motivated the extension of their capabilities to 3D volumetric data for tasks such as report generation and visual question answering. A primary obstacle to this advancement is the reliance of current approaches on specialized 3D vision encoders, whose performance is constrained by the scarcity of large-scale annotated datasets.
Large-Scale Histological Image Dataset with Metadata for Colorectal Cancer Microenvironment - Scientific Data
Abstract The pronounced heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in colorectal cancer (CRC) presents major obstacles in accurately predicting patient outcomes and tailoring treatment responses. Deciphering this intricate microenvironment based on histological images and classifying it into well-defined tissue components is critical for optimizing clinical interventions.

Bile Acid Analogs with Anti-Germination Activities for Prophylaxis of Clostridioides difficile Infection Alter Bile Acid Homeostasis in the Enterohepatic Cycle[v1] | Preprints.org
We previously reported that two bile acid (BA) analogs CamSA and CA-Quin demonstrate potent anti-germination activity against Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) spores, protecting rodents from C. difficile infections. Here we further evaluated the impact of these analogs on the hepatic transcriptome and BA homeostasis in vivo by focusing BA profiles on the liver, feces, and chyme as well as hepatic transcriptome after a 7-day treatment.

The Impact of Solvent Extraction Machine Design on Group II vs. Group III Base Oil Quality
Solvent Extraction in Base Oil Refining Solvent extraction is a key refining step that removes undesirable components (such as aromatics, sulfur, and nitrogen compounds) from lubricant feedstocks. The efficiency of this process directly impacts the purity, viscosity index (VI), and oxidation stability of the final base oil. Group II Base Oils: Produced through severe hydrocracking and solvent extraction, these oils have higher saturates (>90%) and lower sulfur content (<0.03%).

How Portable Oil Purifiers Can Extend Transformer Life by 30% or More
Fortunately, portable oil purifiers offer an efficient solution, potentially extending transformer life by 30% or more. Here’s how: 1. Removing Contaminants That Degrade Oil Transformer oil deteriorates due to moisture, sludge, and particulate contamination. These impurities reduce dielectric strength and accelerate aging. Portable oil purifiers use filtration, dehydration, and degassing to remove: Water – Prevents oxidation and sludge formation. Solid particles – Reduces abrasive wear on components.
Protein misfolding involving entanglements providesa structural explanation for the origin of stretched-exponential refolding kinetics
Abstract Stretched-exponential protein refolding kinetics, first observed decades ago, were attributed to a nonnative ensemble of structures with parallel, non-interconverting folding pathways. However, the structural origin of the large energy barriers preventing interconversion between these folding pathways is unknown. Here, we combine simulations with limited proteolysis (LiP) and cross-linking (XL) mass spectrometry (MS) to study the protein phosphoglycerate kinase (PGK).
Tissue-specific mutagenesis from endogenous guanine damage is suppressed by Polκ and DNA repair
Abstract Knowledge of mutational patterns has expanded significantly, but a persistent challenge is to link these complex patterns to the underlying molecular mechanism or source of DNA damage, especially when that damage is endogenous and not driven by environmental mutagens.

Random resistive memory-based deep extreme point learning machine for unified visual processing - Nature Communications
Abstract Visual sensors, including 3D light detection and ranging, neuromorphic dynamic vision sensor, and conventional frame cameras, are increasingly integrated into edge-side intelligent machines. However, their data are heterogeneous, causing complexity in system development. Moreover, conventional digital hardware is constrained by von Neumann bottleneck and the physical limit of transistor scaling. The computational demands of training ever-growing models further exacerbate these challenges.
