Fucoxanthin alleviates myocardial fibrosis in diabetic mice by suppressing oxidative stress in cardiac fibroblasts via Prdx4 regulation
Abstract Cardiac fibrosis is a serious pathological manifestation of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM), which can damage cardiac function and eventually lead to heart failure. This study demonstrated that fucoxanthin (FX), the most abundant carotenoid in the marine environment, significantly ameliorated cardiac dysfunction and reduced fibrosis levels in mice with DCM.
Catastrophic consequences of prolonged immobilization after intracerebral hemorrhage: a case report of crush syndrome combined with capillary leak syndrome
Abstract Background: Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage is a neurological emergency with high mortality and disability rates. Prolonged immobilization after stroke can trigger severe systemic complications. The simultaneous occurrence of crush syndrome and capillary leak syndrome in the setting of acute intracerebral hemorrhage is extremely rare and life-threatening, and no established treatment protocol exists.
EDC-Net for small object detection in UAV imagery using edge-aware dynamic context modeling
Abstract To address the challenges of insufficient detection accuracy in UAV aerial imagery, this paper proposes EDC-Net, a small object detection method based on an Edge-Aware Dynamic Context Network. First, an Edge-Aware Enhancement Module (EAEM) is designed to compensate for contour degradation in deep features. By embedding gradient cues into intermediate feature learning and combining them with spatial-context information, EAEM enhances the network’s sensitivity to tiny-object boundaries.
Optimized post-GWAS analysis identifies therapeutic targets for essential thrombocythemia and polycythemia vera
Abstract Limited insight into the biology of essential thrombocythemia (ET) and polycythemia vera (PV) has constrained therapeutic development. We therefore aimed to prioritize genetically supported molecular determinants underlying disease susceptibility and hematologic phenotypes, and to distinguish shared and subtype-specific regulation.

Cerebral salt wasting syndrome in an elderly patient with traumatic brain injury: a case report
Abstract Background: Cerebral Salt Wasting Syndrome (CSWS) represents a diagnostically challenging and potentially fatal complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI). It is defined by renal sodium excretion-induced hyponatremia accompanied by hypovolemia, yet its clinical signature—worsening consciousness—frequently mimics intracranial hypertension or Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH).

SPP1/OPN Alleviates Post‐Intracerebral Hemorrhage Depression and Cognitive Impairment via Nrf2/BDNF Signaling Activation in Mice
1 Introduction Depression and stroke represent major contributors to global health challenges [1, 2]. The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights depression as the leading cause of disability worldwide [3], while stroke ranks as the second most common cause of mortality, the third leading contributor to disability, and a principal factor in dementia development globally [4].
Exploring Ferroptosis-Related Genes in Depression: Insights Into Molecular Mechanisms and Potential Therapies
Abstract Objective This study aimed to investigate the role of ferroptosis-related genes in depression pathogenesis and identify potential therapeutic strategies through integrated bioinformatics and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) approaches. Methods We analyzed the GSE38206 dataset comprising peripheral blood mononuclear cell samples from 9 MDD patients and 9 healthy controls.

Ability of SPP1 to Alleviate Post‐Intracerebral Hemorrhage Ferroptosis via Nrf2/HO1 Pathway
1 Introduction More than 5 million cases of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) occur annually worldwide (Hanley et al. 2019). An estimated 10%–15% of strokes are caused by ICH, which carries high morbidity and mortality rates (Chen et al. 2022). Although surgery and blood pressure control have been utilized to treat ICH, no effective treatment is currently available (Zhao et al. 2017).

Numerical Simulation of Typhoon Waves in an Offshore Wind Farm Area of the South China Sea
1. Introduction In offshore areas with enormous potential for wind power generation, like the South China Sea, the construction and operation and maintenance (O&M) processes of offshore wind farms usually face severe environmental threats from typhoons [1,2,3]. Amidst global warming and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, the impact of typhoon disasters has become increasingly severe.

Platelet Membrane‐Encapsulated Nanocomplexes Based on Profundity Scavenging Ros Strategy for Myocardial Infarction Therapy
Ischemia-induced myocardial injury has become a serious threat to human health, and its treatment remains a challenge. The occurrence of ischemic events leads to a burst release of ROS, which triggers extensive oxidative damage and leads to dysfunctional autophagy, making it difficult for cells to maintain homeostasis. Antioxidants and modulation of autophagy have thus become promising strategies for the treatment of ischemic myocardial injury.
