PediatricLiver score: a novel risk score for screening elevated liver stiffness in the pediatric population (CHESS2401)
Abstract Given the looming crisis of rapid increase in childhood obesity globally, chronic metabolic diseases have consequently emerged but without sufficient awareness among children. Reliable and accessible screening tools thus are required to screen for significant liver fibrosis in the general pediatric population. This prospective cohort study comprised three independent cohorts: a training cohort, and two validation cohorts from China and the USA, respectively.

Mathematics > Numerical Analysis
This paper concerns the inverse elastic scattering problem of determining an unknown penetrable obstacle from far-field data. Using the Helmholtz decomposition, the coupled boundary value problem is reformulated as a coupled scalar Helmholtz system. We prove the uniqueness of the associated coupled Helmholtz boundary value problem and of the corresponding boundary integral equation system, which is then discretized by a Nyström method for efficient numerical computation.
Transcriptional repression by TGIF2 coordinates neurogenic priming and neural stem cell maintenance
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Stem cells balance self-renewal with differentiation. Priming, i.e., low-level expression of differentiation-related genes, enables stem cells to remain undifferentiated and progeny to fast proceed in up-regulation of differentiation genes.

Spatial transcriptomics defines IM-crypt as a premalignant niche with bidirectional divergence in early gastric carcinogenesis
Abstract Early gastric carcinogenesis progresses from gastritis through intestinal metaplasia to early gastric cancer, yet the spatial origin of malignant transformation and subtype divergence remains unclear.

Keywords sex chromosomes sex-determining region centromeres XY system unisexual flower development haplotype-resolved genome Introduction The genetic bases of angiosperm sex-determining systems are currently understood in barely two dozen species (Figure 1A), yet angiosperms comprise between 871 and 5,000 independent origins of dioecy.1,2 With this sparse sampling, generalizations are risky, because sex determination of dioecious flowering plants may involve many genes, given that male or...
Correction to “Protein-Binding Patterns Drive the Transport of Mercury in Plasma and Red Blood Cells in Rats”
In the originally published version of this article, panels c–f of Figure 2 contained an inadvertent graphical error introduced during layout adjustment at the revision stage. During efforts to improve the visual balance of the figure, the Y-axis was temporarily repositioned horizontally, and a handling error occurred that reversed the channel orientation, resulting in a switched representation between data channels.

Electrospun Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) Nanofiber Scaffolds Functionalized by Aggregation-Induced Emission Luminogens for Second Near-Infrared Imaging-Guided Photothermal Therapy of Residual Tumors
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Cancer, particularly solid tumors, has emerged as a significant global health risk. Currently, surgery remains the main treatment method for solid tumors. Achieving a complete (R0) resection is a critical objective in the treatment of numerous solid tumors, which can substantially influence patient prognosis.

Plasmon-enhanced ultralow-threshold solid-state triplet fusion upconversion - Nature Photonics
Abstract Triplet fusion upconversion has potential applications in solar cells, photoredox catalysis, additive manufacturing and bioimaging. However, solid-state upconversion systems have struggled to measure up to their solution-phase counterparts, often requiring enormous optical power densities to operate at the maximum efficiency.
Ancient allopolyploidy and specific subgenomic evolution drove the radiation of poplars and willows - Nature Communications
Abstract Allopolyploidy involves the fusion of genomes from different lineages through hybridization and chromosome doubling. However, detecting early allopolyploidy events and understanding the specific subgenomic evolution that contributes to the origin of adaptive innovations for species radiation can be challenging. Here, we present genomes representing all three subfamilies of Salicaceae, a woody model clade, and collect epigenetic and transcriptomic samples.

TGIF2 is a major regulator of neural stem cell fate and neurogenic priming
Abstract During brain development, neural stem cells (NSCs) must balance self-renewal with differentiation and ensure lineage progression. To identify novel regulators of NSCs during neurogenesis, we isolated NSCs by FACS from the mouse cerebral cortex and ganglionic eminence at mid-neurogenesis, and at birth, when gliogenesis starts in both, but neurogenesis only continues in the latter region.

In total, 104,428 cells passed the quality control standards for inclusion in this analysis, of which the NIH and BRPC cohorts respectively contributed 43,011 and 61,417 cells. HCV-related HCC samples comprised the greatest proportion (42.86%) of the scRNA-seq data, whereas HBV-related HCC and nonviral-related HCC samples each comprised 28.57% of these data.
Construction and Validation of a Rat Model of Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis-Associated Intestinal Injury
Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an acute inflammatory reaction of the pancreatic tissue, which involves auto-digestion, oedema, haemorrhage, and necrosis. AP can be categorized into mild, moderately severe and severe AP, with severe pancreatitis also referred to as acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP). ANP is characterized by the accumulation of necrotic material in the peritoneal cavity. This can result in intestinal injury. However, the mechanism of ANP-associated intestinal injury remains unclear.

Design, Synthesis, and Biological Application of A-D-A Type Boranil Fluorescent Dyes
Design, Synthesis, and Biological Application of A-D-A Type Boranil Fluorescent Dyes For the first time, three acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) type Boranil fluorescent dyes, CSU-BF-R (R = H, CH3, OCH3), featuring phenothiazine as the donor, were designed and synthesized. CSU-BF-R exhibited remarkable photophysical characteristics, including large Stokes shifts (>150 nm), high fluorescence quantum yields (up to 40%), long-wavelength emissions, and strong red solid-state fluorescence.
