Clinical and genetic characteristics of patients with disorders of sex development in a large unselected cohort of China
Abstract Disorders of sex development (DSD) encompass a range of congenital conditions characterized by atypical chromosomal, gonadal, or anatomical sex development. Accurate diagnosis and management of DSD are crucial for optimal patient outcomes. This research aims to characterize the clinical and genetic characteristics of a large Chinese cohort of children with non‑chromosomal DSD, with particular focus on the most frequently implicated genes and their diagnostic implications.
Simulation and analysis of strongly asymmetric swirl distortion flow fields
Abstract Driven by the growing demand for stealth and super-maneuverability in modern advanced aircraft, multi-bend inlets such as S-shaped and buried inlets have been widely adopted. While enhancing performance, the swirl distortion induced by such inlets severely restricts engine performance and operational stability.
Correction of the transient thermal analysis model for the solar extreme ultraviolet imager based on in-orbit data
Abstract After obtaining experimental or in-orbit temperature data, the finite element model must be corrected to align the simulation results with the actual measurements. Current research primarily focuses on steady-state corrections, considering only the average temperature. Transient model corrections additionally account for temperature fluctuations. The present study focuses on the correction of transient thermal analysis models for complex satellite systems.

Chromosome-level genome assembly of an Antarctic eelpout species, Lycenchelys nigripalatum
Abstract Eelpouts (family Zoarcidae) serve as an ideal model for investigating adaptive radiation in polar fishes and the parallel evolution of functional genes. However, collection of Antarctic specimens remains highly constrained by logistical difficulties. Here, we present a high-quality, chromosome-level genome assembly for Lycenchelys nigripalatum, reconstructed by combining Illumina short reads, PacBio high-fidelity (HiFi) long reads, and Hi-C chromatin interaction data.
Machine learning driven multi-property prediction for rare earth permanent magnet materials
Abstract Rare earth permanent magnets are key functional materials for strategic emerging fields such as energy engineering and intelligent manufacturing. Misch metal (MM)‑based alloys help boost rare‑earth resource utilization, yet traditional trial‑and‑error experiments suffer from long cycles and cumbersome variable control. In this work, we established 18 model-optimization combinations by coupling six machine learning models with three hyperparameter optimization algorithms.
Combined hydrogen and oxygen therapy attenuates vascular cognitive impairment in rats via gut microbiota-derived SCFA-GPR41/PI3K/Akt/Nrf2 signaling
Abstract Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI), a consequence of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH), is characterized by neuroinflammation and neuronal apoptosis. Hydrogen-rich and hyperoxygenated solution (HHOS) may attenuate CCH-induced brain injury through antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and gut microbiota-modulating mechanisms.
DHCR24 + tumor epithelial cells drive cisplatin resistance in bladder cancer by enhancing cholesterol metabolism to activate lipid raft-associated MAPK signaling
Abstract Cisplatin-based combination therapy remains the primary treatment modality for patients with advanced bladder cancer (BCa); however, the emergence of drug resistance severely restricts clinical benefits. The molecular mechanisms underlying chemoresistance remain incompletely understood. By integrating single-cell transcriptomics with in vitro and in vivo experiments, we revealed that cholesterol metabolism was significantly hyperactivated in cisplatin-resistant BCa tissues.
Directional Inner-Surface Printing for High-Resolution Conformal Electronics
Abstract The direct fabrication of functional electronics on conformal surfaces enables efficient space utilization, higher integration density, and reduced structural weight in advanced electronic systems. While conformal electronics on planar and externally curved surfaces have been widely investigated, no effective approach has been developed for high-resolution fabrication on cavity inner surfaces.

However, preoperative diagnosis of LNM remains insufficiently accurate and the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. This study aimed to identify proteomic biomarkers associated with LNM and investigate the role of AKR1C2 in promoting LNM.
An integrated single-cell transcriptomic and microbiome dataset of orbital adipose tissue in thyroid eye disease
Abstract Thyroid eye disease (TED), also historically referred to as thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) or Graves’ orbitopathy (GO), is an autoimmune ophthalmopathy characterized by inflammation and adipogenesis within orbital adipose (OA) tissue. While the contribution of immune cell infiltration and fibroblast activation is recognized, the cellular heterogeneity and the potential role of local microbial dysbiosis in the orbital microenvironment remain poorly defined.
Molecular coordination achieves uniform kesterite absorber film for efficient solar modules
Abstract Environmentally benign and earth-abundant kesterite Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) solar cells have advanced rapidly through solution-based processing. However, scaling from laboratory-scale devices to modules remains a major challenge, largely because complex coordination networks in the precursors hinder the formation of uniform large-area films.

Physiological Adaptation Buffers Personality-Linked Psychopathology Under High-Altitude Hypoxia
1 Introduction Prolonged exposure to hypobaric hypoxia in high-altitude environments poses significant physiological challenges and has increasingly been linked to adverse psychological effects. Hypoxia at high altitudes not only disrupts sleep, attention, and executive function but has also been associated with anxiety, depression (DE), and other self-reported psychological symptom dimensions (Y. Li, Wang, et al. 2025; Hösl et al. 2025).

GLP-1 receptor agonist targets an AMPKα1-HIF1α-PFKFB3 metabolic vulnerability and enhances Lenvatinib response in hepatocellular carcinoma
Abstract Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), widely used for diabetes and obesity, have recently attracted attention for potential anti-tumor effects, although their mechanisms remain unclear. Given their role in metabolic regulation, we hypothesized that GLP-1RAs may target cancer-specific metabolic vulnerabilities. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is characterized by metabolic reprogramming and enhanced glycolysis, which contribute to therapeutic resistance.
Unconditional advantage of quantum teleportation over direct transmission of single photons through a lossy channel
Abstract Photon loss is the biggest challenge in quantum communications. Typically, only a small fraction of photons survives direct transmission over long distances, hindering potential applications such as loophole-free Bell tests and device-independent quantum key distribution. Quantum teleportation is an alternative way to transfer quantum states and could, in principle, overcome the limits on transmission imposed by photon loss.

Low-hygroscopic solvents enable ambient blade coating of efficient perovskite solar cells
Abstract Scalable manufacturing of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs) requires blade coating not only of the perovskite layer, but also of other functional layers, including organoammonium halide surface passivation layers and self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), under ambient conditions. However, organoammonium iodides and SAMs are highly hygroscopic and prone to hydrolysis and desorption, respectively, and they are commonly processed from hygroscopic alcohol.
Digitally encoded dual-narrowband photodetectors for secure optical wireless communication
Abstract Next-generation optical wireless communication requires photodetectors that offer both high spectral selectivity and strong security against interception. However, conventional broadband devices remain vulnerable to spectral crosstalk and eavesdropping. Here we show a digitally encoded dual-narrowband organic photodetector that intrinsically integrates optical filtering with algorithm-assisted encryption to enable secure, high-fidelity optical wireless communication.

A multi-organ atlas of microcirculatory signatures for systemic profiling of diabetic and therapeutic states
Abstract Microcirculatory deterioration in diabetes mellitus causes severe organ-specific complications, yet a systemic understanding of its cross-organ pathophysiology remains elusive due to a lack of comprehensive data. To address this gap, we present a high-dimensional dataset mapping microhemodynamic and oxygenation profiles across six organs in murine models of health, pre-diabetes, and type 1 and 2 diabetes.
Inhibition of Pellino-1 reverts the progression and tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance in chronic myeloid leukemia
Abstract BCR-ABL1, derived from structural chromosome rearrangements, is the driver mutation in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Targeting BCR-ABL1 for degradation is an ideal therapeutic strategy for CML, however, the regulatory mechanisms controlling BCR-ABL1 expression in CML remained unclear. Here, we identified PELI1 as a key regulator for maintaining BCR-ABL1 in CML.
Symmetry-guided catalogue of chiral phonon materials
Abstract Chiral phonons—circularly polarized lattice vibrations with angular momentum—have become a key frontier in quantum materials. They offer ways to control heat and information through their coupling to electronic spin and orbital and valley degrees of freedom. We present a symmetry-based framework that classifies phonon chirality across all crystallographic space groups.
Considering symptom burden and social relationships during sexual health management in ovarian suppression-treated women with breast cancer
Abstract Ovarian function suppression (OFS) treatment induces sudden menopause in women with breast cancer, leading to severe sexual issues. While overall sexual health research is limited, evidence specific to OFS-treated women is even scarcer. We aim to compare the symptom burden and interpersonal relationships of sexually active (SAW) and inactive women (SIW). A cross-sectional study was conducted from October 2023 to July 2024.
Development of Dual-Functional Flexible Ultrasonic Sensor Array of Proximity Sensing and Material Recognition for Safety Control of Robot
1 Introduction Robotics has emerged as a central driving force in the transition from traditional industrial automation to modern intelligent systems (Nelson 2025). The multimodal information fusion is a key technology for robots to achieve embodied intelligence (Huang et al. 2025; Lin et al. 2025; Zhao et al. 2025). Multimodal sensing is very important not only for improving task performance but also for enabling robots to develop more human-like perceptual and cognitive capabilities.
Impact of an AI prognostic tool on clinician performance in colorectal liver metastases
Abstract While thousands of AI prediction models are published annually, few are adopted into routine practice, partly because improved statistical performance does not necessarily translate into meaningful impact on clinical decision-making. We conducted a prospective randomized multi-reader multi-case study to evaluate how a machine learning–based prognostic tool influences clinician performance in colorectal liver metastases (CRLM).
Association of wearable sensor-based gait analysis with phenoconversion trajectories in idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder
Abstract Idiopathic rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) is a well-established prodromal manifestation of α-synucleinopathies, with two principal phenoconversion trajectories: parkinsonism-first and dementia-first. Although subtle gait abnormalities have been observed prior to phenoconversion, their predictive value remains unclear. We investigated whether wearable sensor–based gait parameters are associated with phenoconversion and its clinical trajectories in iRBD.
Ultra-Low-Power and Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Memtransistor Based on Vertical Nb-WSe 2 /Te van der Waals Heterostructure
1 Introduction As data volumes and real-time processing demands continue to surge, conventional Von Neumann architectures face increasingly severe limitations arising from the separation of memory and computation [1-4]. In contrast, the human brain, which comprises roughly 1011 neurons and ∼1015 synapses [4-7], achieves remarkable computational efficiency: [8, 9] a single synaptic event consumes on the order of 10 fJ [10] and the entire brain operates at approximately 20 W [11].
Disentangling the Roles of Microbial Traits and Mineral Protection in Regulating Temperature Sensitivity of Soil Carbon Decomposition in Eroded and Depositional Agricultural Soils
1 Introduction The temperature sensitivity of soil carbon decomposition (Q10) is a critical parameter for predicting terrestrial carbon release under global warming (Qin et al., 2021). Most biogeochemical models adopt a “plant input–microbial decomposition” paradigm, emphasizing vertical soil processes on flat terrain (Sun et al., 2024; Wiaux et al., 2014).
The cGAS-STING pathway in cancer: friend or foe
Abstract The cGAS-STING pathway is crucial for recognizing aberrant DNA in the cytoplasm and activating the innate immune response. After detecting aberrant DNA in the cytoplasm, cGAS can catalyze the synthesis of cGAMP from ATP and GTP, which acts as a second messenger to engage STING and unleash type I interferons, thereby eliciting a robust antitumor immune cascade. In recent years, the role of the cGAS-STING pathway in tumor immunity has attracted widespread attention.
Risk decision-making behavior in heritage tourism destinations based on eye-tracking experiments in Gulangyu, China
Abstract With the increasing frequency and severity of both natural and man-made disasters, risk decision-making behavior (RDMB) in heritage tourism destinations (HTDs) has gained growing attention. Traditional studies lack a comprehensive quantification from a “human-centered” perspective and ignore individual perceptual differences in earthquake scenarios, particularly in HTDs with complex architectural layouts and diverse road systems.
Dynamic brain connectivity patterns induced by oxytocin: An fMRI Co-Activation pattern analysis study
Abstract Oxytocin (OT) is a neuropeptide widely implicated in emotional regulation and social cognition. However, its effects on dynamic brain connectivity remain poorly understood. In this study, we applied co-activation pattern (CAP) analysis to resting-state fMRI data to examine how a single intranasal dose of OT modulates whole-brain functional dynamics.
Ultrasensitive photodetectors enabled by pressure-induced atomic-level optimization of graphene-based heterojunctions
Abstract Photodetectors with high photoresponsivity are crucial in a wide range of emerging fields. Here, we report the realization of photodetectors based on co-assembled composite membranes consisting of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) molecules and graphene oxide (GO) sheets, showing a photoresponsivity as high as ~ 10⁷ A/W under 3 nW illumination and a moderate external pressure (~1 atm) in the visible range.
Alkali-metal-mediated control of phase segregation for flexible kesterite solar cells and modules with improved efficiency
Abstract Flexible kesterite Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) photovoltaics are attractive for lightweight and portable applications, but their efficiency remains limited by uncontrolled alkali-metal incorporation. Here we elucidate and exploit the distinct and complementary roles of Na and Li in controlling CZTSSe crystallization on flexible substrates. Our results show that Na promotes crystal growth, but its induced Se enrichment simultaneously drives large-scale SnSex phase segregation.
