The Toronto Holocaust Museum has started testing an experimental advertising campaign to combat harmful content online. On May 12, the museum launched a YouTube account called “Hate Tags”, whose videos are run as short paid advertisements before content flagged as hateful, misinformation, or incitement of violence.

What was your first job as a journalist?

Editorial assistant at La Scena Musicale. The first paid article I wrote for them was a review of the album Virtuosa.

Why did you become a journalist?

I find there's a lot of negativity in the world. Especially in the news. I want to write stories that help people and that spread positivity.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, but I wrote some articles for my university's paper, The Charlatan. I once infiltrated a furry convention for a feature article.
