In situ formation of adaptive electronic skin in 2 seconds enabled by metal coordination
Abstract Epidermal electronics, which are flexible and conformable electronic systems designed to interact seamlessly with human skin, hold great promise for healthcare monitoring and personal electronics. However, traditional fabrication methods face challenges of reliance on non-sustainable materials, intricate and time-consuming processes, and material softness-induced fragile transfer to target substrates.
Risk factors for pediatric invasive pneumococcal disease complicated by purulent meningitis
Abstract Objective: To analyze the risk factors associated with invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) complicated by purulent meningitis in children, with the goal of enhancing early diagnosis and treatment, preventing complications, and improving patient outcomes. Methods: The study involved 56 pediatric patients with IPD and admitted to our hospital from January 2016 and December 2024. Patients were stratified into two groups based on the presence or absence of purulent meningitis.

Functional loss of CHS2 confers high levels resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis Vip3Aa, but with significant fitness costs in five lepidopteran species
Abstract Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) crops, engineered to produce insecticidal proteins such as Vip3Aa and Cry toxins, have revolutionized pest management by providing a sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides. However, the development of resistance to these toxins has driven the investigation of underlying mechanisms to better understand how pests evade toxicity and to develop more effective resistance management strategies.
Suppressing Oxygen Adsorption on Bulk Arsenic and 2D Arsenic Nanoflake Surfaces: The Role of Sb Doping
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Arsenic and arsenic-based materials have attracted widespread attention in recent years due to their unique properties, such as high temperature superconductivity, (1−4) desirable optoelectronic properties, (5−7) and high thermal conductivity, (8,9) etc.
Impact of Guanidine Hydrochloride on the shapes of Prothymosin-α and α-Synuclein is dramatically different
Abstract The effects of Guanidine Hydrochloride (GdmCl) on two Intrinsically Disordered Proteins (IDPs) are investigated using simulations of the Self-Organized Polymer-IDP (SOP-IDP) model. The impact of GdmCl is taken into account using the Molecular Transfer Model(MTM). We show that, due to dramatic reduction in the stiffness of the highly charged Prothymosin-α (ProTα) with increasing concentration of GdmCl ([GdmCl]), the radius of gyration (Rg) decreases sharply till about 1.0M.
Novel Mito‐Nuclear Combinations Facilitate the Global Invasion of a Major Agricultural Crop Pest
1 Introduction The invasion of non-native species is a pressing global issue that poses a significant threat to both ecological and food security on a global scale.[1, 2] Understanding the mechanisms behind biological invasions represents a critical and challenging area of scientific inquiry.[3] This field remains a hotbed of research activity with numerous complexities to be explored.[4] Efforts to elucidate the factors contributing to the success of certain invasive species have typically...

Serum copper assessment in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and tubal infertility: A retrospective 5‐year study
1 INTRODUCTION The recent reports indicated that approximately 15% of the global reproductive-age population suffers from infertility (Jiao et al., 2021). Notably, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) emerges as one of the predominant factors in female infertility, accounting for about 70% of anovulatory infertility (Bourgneuf et al., 2021).
Retrotransposon-mediated variation of a chitin synthase gene confers insect resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis Vip3Aa toxin
Abstract Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) crops expressing Vip3Aa are highly efficacious in controlling major lepidopteran pests and delaying evolution of pest resistance.

Effects of metronidazole on colorectal cancer occurrence and colorectal cancer liver metastases by regulating Fusobacterium nucleatum in mice
1 INTRODUCTION Colorectal cancer (CRC) accounts for approximately 10% of all of the annually diagnosed cancers and cancer-related deaths all over the world, which is the third most prevalent cancer diagnosed in men and second most in women, and the incidence and mortality in women are about 25% lower than those in men.1 Inflammation is closely associated with tumors, with the systemic inflammatory response related to tumors considered as one of the significant indicators of tumor progression,...

Short‐term wind speed multistep combined forecasting model based on two‐stage decomposition and LSTM
Abstract In order to better extract and study the characteristics of the wind speed in time‐domain and frequency‐domain, so as to solve the time‐domain randomness and frequency‐domain complexity problems of the wind speed signal, a combined short‐term prediction model (WD‐VMD‐DLSTM‐AT), which is based on two‐stage decomposition (WD + VMD), double long‐short‐term memory network (DLSTM) and attention mechanism (AT), is proposed; on this basis, a multi‐input multiple output (MIMO) codec model...

Palladium(0)-Catalyzed C(sp3)-Si Bond Formation via Formal Carbene Insertion into Si-H Bond
Pd(0)-catalyzed formal carbene insertion into Si-H bonds have been achieved as an efficient method for C(sp3)-Si bond formation. The reaction, which uses readily available N-tosylhydrazones as the diazo precursors, is highly efficient and shows wide substrate scope. Rh(II) and Cu(I) salts, which are the widely used catalysts for carbene insertion reactions, have been proved to be ineffective for the current reaction. A Pd(II) carbene migratory insertion/reductive elimination mechanism is proposed.
Sp1 transcription factor promotes TMEPAI gene expression and contributes to cell proliferation
TMEPAI (transmembrane prostate androgen-induced protein) has been reported to be overexpressed during tumour progression; however, little is known concerning transcriptional mechanisms regulating TMEPAI gene expression. In this study, the TMEPAI gene promoter has been identified and characterized, and the effects of Sp1 on TMEPAI-induced viability of A549 cells were evaluated, using MTT and colony formation assays.
