Abstract This study characterizes the viral landscape identified within cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from peripheral blood samples of pregnant women in Shaanxi Province, China. Using non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) combined with high-throughput sequencing, we analyzed the virome composition in 20,035 maternal plasma samples to determine viral prevalence, regional variations, and potential associations with pregnancy outcomes.
