Surgeries Mice were implanted with custom-made steel headplates to permit head fixation during behavioral experiments. The headplate implantation was performed under isoflurane anesthesia (1-2%). Anesthetized mice were kept on a thermal blanket to maintain an appropriate body temperature throughout surgery. Pre-emptive analgesia was administered via intraperitoneal injections of 5 mg/kg meloxicam and 0.1 mg/kg buprenorphine.
