A Winter Weather Advisory is up for the Tennessee Valley until 1 AM Monday. Freezing drizzle and light snow showers will cause ice on surfaces and roadways overnight. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous into Monday morning. Some light snow showers over Northeast Alabama may result in some light snow accumulations into Monday morning. Rapidly falling temperatures will lead to standing water freezing into ice.

Wind Advisory for gusty winds Sunday night

A Wind Advisory is in effect overnight into early Monday morning for all of North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee. Winds will get gusty overnight, with the potential to blow around unsecured outdoor items and a few tree limbs. The Wind Advisory for our area will remain in effect until 6 AM Monday. Some gusty winds will continue even after the rain has ended early in the morning. Take the time now to secure outdoor items and be prepared for gusty winds overnight.

The days ahead will feature plenty of sunshine and warming temperatures. Afternoons will be very pleasant heading into the weekend. The weather will be mild and pleasant for the rest of the week. There will be plenty of sunshine and temperatures will reach the low to mid-70s in the afternoons. Our next system arrives by the end of the weekend and will bring a chance for a few showers.
