Mizzou snuck by Texas A&M but the next game has even bigger NCAA tourney implications
Aaron Marks Coming off two straight wins, the Mizzou Tigers entered Wednesday night's matchup against Texas A&M with a lot more to prove to the rest of the world. Despite sitting at 16-7, the Tigers have flown largely under the radar of the national media. Texas A&M, on the other hand, is the talk of the SEC. Despite dropping their last two contests to Alabama and Florida, the Aggies have been one of the best teams in the conference all year long.

Crowdfunding Carnival: October, 2025
Welcome to the Crowdfunding Carnival for October! We’re in spooky season, but more importantly, con season has wound down and the game designers have wound up. Tons of solid campaigns are on Kickstarter and Backerkit, and we have a few majors and some interesting tie-ins as well. Before we get going here, it’s worth noting that as of today, Kickstarter United, the union representing Kickstarter employees, is going on strike as they have been working without a contract since July.
Takeda Antitrust Trial Over Actos Generics Set for July
A New York federal court refused a bid from Takeda Pharmaceuticals Co. to escape a long-running case accusing it of unlawfully delaying generic versions of its diabetes treatment Actos and scheduled a trial to start in July. U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams issued an opinion and order on Monday denying Takeda’s motion for summary judgment while partially granting a summary judgment motion from the buyers.
Do games need a reason to exist?
Last week I puzzled over my “review” of Lovecraftesque. The game is certainly well done, and it is an improvement over earlier games like Fiasco in terms of how it is structured and how it uses board game elements like a game board and cards and tokens.
For energy storage fire safety, will perception become reality?
The Moss Landing BESS fire has focused attention on safety considerations and concerns, as Aaron Marks, energy storage consultant at Clean Energy Associates (CEA), takes a closer look. This continues our regular series of exclusive Energy-Storage.news Guest Blog contributions from Clean Energy Associates, following January’s piece, ‘An object in motion: The US battery storage industry will keep moving,’ from Dan Finn-Foley, CEA’s director of Energy Storage Market Intelligence.
Onboard Faster With AI Role-Play
As companies strive to onboard new employees efficiently, they must balance the need for human connection with the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI). Most customer facing teams aren’t ready for AI to mediate important, revenue-generating customer interactions. People want to talk to other people, especially if they’re considering spending significant amounts of money. But this doesn’t mean that AI has no place in improving efficiency and productivity.
Mizzou Men's Basketball: A Week In Review (Week 5)
Entering December with a strong 6-1 record, Mizzou men’s basketball faced a challenging matchup against the University of California. The Tigers have developed a reputation for starting slow, and this game was no exception. Struggling offensively and committing seven turnovers in the first half, Mizzou found itself trailing 51-35 at the break. Andrei Stojakovic led the Golden Bears with 11 points in the opening half, as the Tigers never seemed to find their rhythm.
Mizzou Men's Basketball: A Week In Review (Week 4)
Week 4 of the Mizzou men’s basketball season featured just one matchup, with the Tigers facing the Lindenwood Lions Wednesday at Mizzou Arena. One narrative for this Tiger team has been their tendency to get off to slow starts. This game was no different, as at the 12-minute mark of the first half, the game was tied at 17, and the Tigers couldn’t seem to get their offense rolling. A notable moment came when Caleb Grill left the game on a stretcher with a head/neck injury.
Mizzou Men's Basketball Notches Their 6th Straight Win Over Lindenwood
On Wednesday night Mizzou men's basketball picked up yet another non-conference victory over Lindenwood. By Aaron Marks | Nov 28, 2024 Mizzou Men’s Basketball hosted Lindenwood for game 6 of a 12-game homestand, where the Tigers secured a 81-61 victory. The story of the Tigers in recent games has been slow starts. Despite their big wins over the past few weeks, Mizzou has struggled offensively at the beginning of games.
Mizzou Men's Basketball: A Week In Review (Week 3)
Starting off week 3, the Missouri Tigers faced the Pacific Tigers this past Friday night at Mizzou Arena. Mizzou started the game slowly, finding themselves down 7-2 at the first media timeout and struggling to find its shot. However, they regrouped and, later in the period, began to find a defensive rhythm. They forced three turnovers on three consecutive Pacific possessions, turning a 13-11 lead into a 19-11 advantage, prompting a Pacific timeout.
Mizzou Men's Basketball: A Week In Review (Week 2)
On Monday, Missouri's basketball team took on Eastern Washington in a non-conference battle at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers started off the game slow offensively, turning the ball over twice before coach Dennis Gates was forced to call a timeout with his team trailing 12-4. Following the timeout, Caleb Grill checked into the game and made a quick impact, knocking down two free throws and four threes in the first half alone, giving him 16 points at the break.
Weekly Wrap-up of Mizzou Men's Basketball: Week One
Week 1 of Mizzou Men’s Basketball was definitely a rollercoaster, to say the least. They opened the season at FedExForum this past Monday, facing off against the Memphis Tigers. The Tigers started off hot, ending the first half up by 10 points. However, the second half was nothing short of a disaster. What was a 10-point lead at the half for Mizzou quickly evaporated as Memphis began to chip away at the lead.
Mizzou Basketball Notches Their First Win of the 2024-25 Campaign over Howard
Tigers struggle from the 3-point line, but they played good enough to get the job done. By Aaron Marks | 12:30 PM EST In the home opener of the 2024-25 season, the Missouri men's basketball team defeated the Howard Bison, 77-62, for their first win of the year. The Tigers started the game strong on the defensive end, holding the Bison scoreless for the first 6:35. Howard didn’t hit its first field goal until the 12:41 mark of the first half.

Actelion Must Face Tracleer Antitrust Suit With Class Certified
A Maryland federal judge refused Friday to toss an antitrust suit accusing Actelion Pharmaceuticals of illegally denying generics companies the samples they needed to produce generic versions of its hypertension drug Tracleer, while separately certifying a class composed of “hundreds” of insurers and self-funded employers. U.S. District Judge George L. Russell III issued two omnibus opinions Friday, including a sealed decision rejecting Actelion’s bid to nix the case on summary judgment.
Plasmodics Kickstarter Preview
As far as movements in the RPG hobby go, the OSR has been great for weird. It makes sense: If you want to put stuff in your game that’s atypical, hard to explain, or just plain out there, games which give the GM the latitude to treat them appropriately without forcing you to use giant stat blocks or the square-cube law are going to be a very good fit.
Using AI for Good: Artificial Intelligence in Shareholder Advocacy
Companies use the term to refer to different things, but one of the most prominent and frequently discussed types of AI used in businesses today is “generative AI.” Generative AI trains AI to absorb large amounts of data patterns and structures— so-called large-language models—so that it can learn and eventually generate new data with characteristics that are similar to the original data. Generative AI tools include popular chat-bots like ChatGPT and Claude, and search engines like Perplexity.
Takeda Should Face Certified Antitrust Classes, Judge Says
A New York federal judge on Friday recommended certifying two classes of direct purchasers and end payors in consolidated antitrust actions accusing Takeda Pharmaceuticals Co. of unlawfully inflating the price of its diabetes treatment Actos by delaying entry of generic alternatives. U.S. Magistrate Judge Stewart D.

Biologics Antitrust Litigation
Antitrust litigation continues to be an important vehicle for employers, multi-employer health funds, and public entities to recover damages for inflated prices they have paid for prescription drugs through their employee benefits package. Cohen Milstein has been at the forefront of these cases, serving as lead counsel and recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for employers who overpaid for prescription drugs.
Hall of Football
Former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh made a bold statement about J. J. McCarthy on the Rich Eisen Show in early-February, saying, “Mark my words, don’t be surprised when he’s maybe the No. 1 quarterback off the board. ” The comment from Harbaugh, now with the Los Angeles Chargers, seemed outlandish at the time as McCarthy was widely being projected outside the top 10 and behind the top-tier group of quarterbacks: Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye.

Lessons For Biosimilar and Biologic Antitrust Litigation - Law360
By Aaron Marks The future of pharmaceutical antitrust litigation will likely focus in large part on biologics and biosimilars. Cases involving the delayed market entry of generic pharmaceuticals have traditionally focused on small-molecule generic drugs. In recent years, though, the U.S. drug market has come to be dominated by biologics.
Fantasy World Review
While Apocalypse World was the starting line for Powered by the Apocalypse, Dungeon World was what got the ruleset to really take off. By adapting the rules of the perennially popular Dungeons and Dragons as well as showing gamers what it looked like when Apocalypse World was hacked, Dungeon World not only moved significantly more copies than Apocalypse World but also kickstarted the popularity of PbtA in general.
Crowdfunding Carnival: ZineQuest Check-In
Welcome back to Crowdfunding Carnival! ZineQuest is all the way back in full swing this year, and I have definitively lost track of everything going on so far. According to Kickstarter there are 158 ZineQuest projects live as of this writing (live, not total, live), and sorry, but I can’t summarize all of them. I can’t. What I am going to do is show you fifty zines that I thought looked cool. We’ve got everything here: Llamas, procedural generation, ghost porn, bowling, and of course, pirates.
Apocalypse Keys Review
Powered by the Apocalypse, or PbtA, is one of the most popular RPG rulesets in the indie gaming sphere. After getting its start with Apocalypse World and the Bakers’ permissive license, PbtA blew up first among single designers and small groups and then in the wider gaming sphere. While Apocalypse World was modestly successful in its own right, many of the games it spawned, including Monster of the Week, Dungeon World, and Blades in the Dark, multiplied its success many times over.
What to Do When Customer Spending Is Slowing Down
Finding that your buyers are taking longer to make their decisions and that your deals are taking longer to close? A new Demand Gen study confirms this B2B buying trend: Fifty-five percent of buyers report that their purchasing timelines have grown — with 1 in 5 reporting they have increased significantly! But why is this happening? And more importantly, what does this mean for entrepreneurs and small business owners?
The Trouble with RPG Prices
In the past we have discussed playing RPGs, of course. We’ve also discussed reading RPGs, and collecting RPGs. One thing we haven’t discussed much, though, is buying RPGs. A tabletop roleplaying game is a creative work that can take up to hundreds of man-hours, not to mention the intellectual and emotional investment of almost everyone involved with bringing it to fruition. Despite this, there are plenty of people on the internet who deign to call RPGs overpriced.
Power Rangers RPG Review
There is a new generation of companies emerging in the RPG world. Free League and Modiphius were founded in 2011 and 2012, respectively, but an even younger studio is making big waves. Renegade Game Studios was founded in 2014 by hobby game industry veteran Scott Gaeta, and his business acumen shows through in Renegade’s portfolio.
Doctors and Daleks Review
Gamers have long memories. In the early 2000s, the first iteration of the Open Gaming License was released by Wizards of the Coast, and accompanied by the ‘D20’ branding, which allowed many games to claim official compatibility with the Third Edition of Dungeons and Dragons. While this new era in licensing created some new and interesting games, it also created a lot of, well, garbage.
How to Manage Single-Stock Concentration From Employee Stock Awards
Too much of anything can be bad, at least in theory. But can too much company stock be a drawback—especially when the stock in question has done well and still seems like a good investment going forward? Employer-granted stock awards and stock-purchase programs are two common ways to build up a concentrated stock position, which is typically defined as making up more than 10% of a portfolio’s total value.

Email Is Still King (and 4 Other Big Insights Into Effective Tech Marketing) Original
Before becoming an entrepreneur, I had a lengthy career as an in-house marketing leader. During that time, I started closely following a few companies that stood out as thought leaders in B2B marketing. One of those is Gartner. So, when I saw recent analysis from Gartner about how to drive better demand generation, I had to dive in. The challenge with these reports is that they're typically very enterprise-focused.
The Trouble With Kickstarter
In December of 2021, Kickstarter made an announcement that it was going to develop a new platform for crowdfunding, using blockchain technology. The announcement received a significant negative response, given the negative environmental impacts of current blockchain applications and the widespread use of blockchain tech, through both cryptocurrencies and non-fungible token (NFT) schemes, to commit fraud.

Now, they're publishing the findings in a study in which they offer some suggestions on how to improve our trains.
