Anthony Ukeje, an Abuja-based physicist, has finally regained access to his MTN FibreX subscription, which failed to activate after he renewed it in April. Ukeje confirmed this to FIJ on Saturday afternoon. “MTN has restored my subscription. Thank you very much. They called me without telling me it has been restored. I switched it on yesterday (Friday) and discovered it’s working, hence I decided to share the news with you. I received calls on July 14, 16 and 17,” he wrote to FIJ on WhatsApp.

Some gunmen abducted three siblings who were travelling with the remains of their deceased mother in Benue State on Saturday morning. Between January and July, kidnappers have ambushed commercial and private vehicles in Benue, killing and kidnapping several travellers. Media reports revealed that the siblings were travelling from Abuja when the kidnappers intercepted their vehicle along Ogobia–Otukpo Road in Ohimini Local Government Area.

A Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has admitted documentary and electronic evidence in the case against Abiola Adams-Odutayo, the woman on trial for the death of Adetunji Opayele, co-founder of Bumpa. FIJ learnt that the electronic evidence that was admitted when the matter came up before the court for continuation of trial on Tuesday included CCTV footage from a restaurant, which is still subject to verification.
