A violent clash broke out in Ojoo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday, stemming from the killing of a tricycle rider during a dispute over a Point of Sale (PoS) transaction. When FIJ contacted the police in Oyo, its spokesperson said “…you are a journalist and should be able to find out” what led to the clash. FIJ learnt that tension had been building in the area since Tuesday night after the tricycle rider was killed in circumstances that triggered anger among residents.

This came after Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, the senator representing Katsina Central, moved a motion regarding the targeted kidnapping and killing of Rabe Abubakar, a retired major general and former director of defence information, and other military officers.

It was an educational beat story. I attended an event where the Osun State government awarded some best students in secondary school.
