Journalism has been famously called “the first rough draft of history,” and working in the Opinion section, that takes on new meaning for me. I am very aware that the worries and concerns of readers today will look very different 100 years hence. It’s hard not to wonder what future generations will make of our fears of artificial intelligence or our debates over climate change. It’s likely they will new problems that we can’t even imagine.
