Hypobaric hypoxia at 3,466 m suppresses hepatic bile acid metabolism and remodels the tumor lipidome in mice
Background Systemic hypoxia induces whole-body metabolic adaptation, but its impact on tumor metabolism and hepatic bile acid (BA) pathways remains poorly defined. Methods We investigated how high-altitude (HA) hypobaric hypoxia at 3,466 m affects tumor growth, tumor lipid metabolism, and liver BA regulation in mice bearing LLC1 lung carcinoma or E0771 mammary carcinoma. Moreover, we tested the contribution of hypoxia/HIF signaling and HNF4A knockdown to BA-related gene regulation in HepG2 cells.
Comparative analysis of short answer questions and multiple-choice questions in formative assessment of first-year medical students
Background Assessment methods are essential for evaluating medical students’ knowledge and cognitive skills. Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are widely used because of their objectivity and efficiency, whereas short answer questions (SAQs) are considered better suited for assessing higher-order cognitive skills. However, evidence comparing the psychometric performance of these formats in formative undergraduate medical assessments remains limited.

Designing cities: should we build from scratch or keep history alive?
Cities are often described as living archives of human memory. Walk through an old neighbourhood in an Islamic city like Fez in Morocco or Cairo in Egypt, and you can see layers of history in its streets and buildings. Traces of the past remain visible in everyday life. Urban historians sometimes call this a palimpsest – a place where layers of history remain visible, like old writing faintly showing beneath new text.

Does Islam Judge its Followers?
Q Dear Ustadz, I am born-raised moslem, however after the events that have happened in my life, I find an inclination towards disbelieving some of its teaching, I felt like some of it is nestled in anger and guilt, anger on how my trials are of such pain that I could not even justify a higher wisdom and guilt on resisting it, this guilt however does not compel me to seek answer within islam rather it compels me to be free of it, because i sometimes feel that to walk and breath without being...
