When president-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated the second time on January 20th, he will not be the first president to serve two, non-consecutive terms. In both 1885 and 1893, Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th president of the United States, was inaugurated. The interim inauguration was that of Benjamin Harrison, the man who defeated him in the 1888 election. If this is ringing any bells about the current White House situation, well, obviously you’ve been reading the news.

What was your first job as a journalist?

A truly awful high school newsletter edited by my late mother (I was homeschooled). However, it instilled in me a love for the trade.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Only for fun, though I think they are a very cool piece of machinery. Fun fact: they were invented in Milwaukee!

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Journalists not only tell stories vital to everyday living, but they also provide the first draft of our historical record, an important job.
