FROM ANDREWS MCMEEL SYNDICATION
Amazon Prime’s new dark fantasy “Carnival Row” certainly takes strange liberties with familiar themes. Wildly imaginative, its premise may be too realistic and gruesome for some. Imagine a fairy kingdom destroyed by an imperial misadventure involving two superpowers. A harsh “peace” subjects the fairy people to ethnic cleansing. Their slaughter sends them into exile in the land of their former protectors, a dark, gothic city resembling Victorian London.

The average Amazon Prime member spends $1,400 a year compared to $600 for a non-Prime member.
