The junction of the US-40 and DE-896 corridors became the focus for the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) long before it was the topic of a public workshop last May.

Army Corps: St. Georges Bridge work remains on schedule; closure to be lifted by Jan. 31

The full closure of the St. Georges Bridge, which carries U.S. Route 13 over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal in southern New Castle County, will be lifted by January 31, 2019, as necessary rehabilitation of that span is completed on schedule, weather permitting. The announcement was made in a release issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Philadelphia District.
