The Faribault Area Retired Educators (FARE) will meet on Monday, May 18, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Faribault. Social Time will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the program will start at 10. FARE is an organization of teachers and support staff who have retired from any area of education and from any school. Those who are interested in joining or learning more are encouraged to attend.

I first met Roger Warehime on what was forecast to be the coldest day of the year. It was November 2018, and he had just been announced as the new general manager of Owatonna Public Utilities. After a phone interview, I asked if I could take his photo. Roger suggested we meet outside the following morning — he had a specific vision in mind, one that included the iconic power plant smokestacks rising behind him. Even then, he was thinking about the bigger picture.
