It's a wonderful blend of Spelunky and bullet heaven games that is one of the best PS5 roguelikes available. It's wacky and a bit outrageous, but if you're able to relish in the chaos, you'll be rewarded with an addicting experience with plenty of new things to constantly throw your way. A few months ago in LA, I plopped myself in the corner of a bustling warehouse full of upcoming game demos and industry people, Steam Deck in hand. I was unceremoniously given the handheld with Blood Dungeon running on it. Though tired from a full day of demoing, something about Blood Dungeon hooked me right from the start and reignited my vigor. It's a Survivors-like game -- or "Bullet Heaven," if you will -- so that's a quick way to catch my attention.

Striving to recreate the spirit of Star Fox 64, the on-rails arcade shooter Wild Blue Skies is developed by Chuhai Labs, which also so happens to be headed by one of the programmers for the original Star Fox on the SNES. If anyone has a right to create their very own Star Fox alternative, surely it is this studio. They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, after all, but if that's the case, I'm not sure what we should call Wild Blue Skies.
