TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — The Salvation Army in Tupelo is providing water and other essential items to people experiencing homelessness during Mississippi’s summer months. Latonya Griffin, kitchen coordinator at the Tupelo Salvation Army, said the summer heat can be dangerous. “Mississippi has some extremely hot summer months; it can be dangerous,” she said. Griffin runs the kitchen and oversees a water bottle drive that has been happening since 2021.
