SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Bossier City man has been found guilty of raping a woman inside her home in June 2020. On Thursday, July 9, 2026, Cortez Lane, 45, was convicted of second-degree rape in Caddo District Court. A 12-person jury deliberated for about an hour before returning the guilty verdict. Testimony indicated Lane was visiting the victim when he undressed and forced himself on her within minutes of arriving. Lane was reportedly about twice her size.

This comes after his bond was set at $6 million. On Thursday, June 25, Jhadryan Green, 42, appeared in court. Judge John Mosely Jr. set Green’s bond at $1 million for each count he’s charged with.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Edduin Silva, 22, of Shreveport, has been convicted in the 2023 shooting death of Amaya Jacobs, a woman prosecutors said he knew. A 12-person jury in Caddo District Court deliberated for less than 15 minutes Wednesday, July 8, 2026, before finding Silva guilty of second-degree murder in Jacobs’ April 26, 2023, slaying.
