Durvalumab plus anlotinib versus durvalumab alone as maintenance treatment in extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer (DURABLE): a multicenter, randomized, phase II trial and biomarker analysis
Abstract Although first-line immunotherapy plus chemotherapy has made substantial progress in extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), the survival benefit remains limited. DURABLE was a prospective, multicenter, open-label, randomized, phase II trial (NCT04985851) that evaluated the efficacy and safety of durvalumab plus anlotinib as consolidative maintenance therapy following first-line durvalumab plus platinum-etoposide chemotherapy in ES-SCLC.
GLUT6-facilitated noncanonical glucose metabolic rewiring enables resistance to targeted cancer therapy
Abstract Targeting glucose metabolism has long been pursued as an anticancer strategy, yet its clinical translation remains challenging. Achieving therapeutic selectivity requires identifying actionable metabolic distinctions between different malignant traits. Here, we uncover a noncanonical, lactate-independent glucose metabolic pathway facilitated by the glucose transporter 6 (GLUT6), which confers targeted therapy resistance in lung cancer.
Regulation of neuronal invasion of small cell lung cancer by STMN2/β-alanine-controlled metabolic reprogramming
Keywords SCLC invasiveness perineural invasion stathmin-2 Research topic(s) CP: cancer CP: neuroscience Introduction Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) represents one of the most lethal malignancies, distinguished by its rapid doubling time, early widespread dissemination, and distinct neuroendocrine biology.1,2 Originating from pulmonary neuroendocrine cells (PNECs), SCLC retains a transcriptional and phenotypic identity strikingly similar to that of developing neurons, characterized by the...

Prognostic significance of continuing immunotherapy beyond progression in unresectable lung adenocarcinoma
Abstract Background: In patients with unresectable lung adenocarcinoma, whether cross-line immunotherapy (CIT) can improve clinical outcomes remains unclear. Methods: This study enrolled patients with unresectable lung adenocarcinoma who received immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs)–based therapy and subsequently experienced disease progression. According to post-progression treatment strategies, patients were categorized into two groups: CIT group and Non-CIT group.
Backscattered Stokes vector angular pattern of individual particles in water
Individual particles’ large-range angular distribution, including scattering angles near 180° of polarized light backscattering, is vital for the bio-optical model of ocean color remote sensing and Lidar. However, its simultaneous acquisition is still challenging.
Artificial intelligence in drug discovery: A new frontier in the fight against Mycobacterium tuberculosis
MohammadAbavisani is a PhD candidate at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences who specializes in medical bacteriology. He completed his master's degree in medical microbiology from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2021. His undergraduate concern with antibiotic resistance inspired his master's thesis, which focused on antimicrobial heteroresistance.
Highlights • Anlotinib combined with chemotherapy demonstrates the promising efficacy in ES-SCLC. • Anlotinib combined with chemotherapy was tolerable. • This is a multicenter, single arm, prospective study. Abstract Introduction Extensive stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) is associated with poor prognosis. Recently, anlotinib has demonstrated significant clinical activity as a third-line or further on treatment.

Kaplan-Meier Estimates of Overall and Progression-Free Survival A, For the anlotinib group, the median overall survival (OS) was 9.6 months (95% CI, 8.2-10.6); for the placebo group, the median OS was 6.3 months (95% CI, 5.0-8.1). The hazard ratio (HR) was 0.68 (95% CI, 0.54-0.87; P = .002).
