Bec Legato is journalist who graduated with a double minor in art history and international communications. Bec works for CNN as a News Associate and worked for them previously as an editorial intern in the summer of 2023. They also were the Station Manager of WICB, an FM-regulated radio station their senior year of school.

Students and faculty alike are able to express their creativity at Cornell University through the performance opportunities provided through the Department of Music. Midday Music The Department of Music created Midday Music to be a more casual performance in comparison to their typical full orchestral performances, breaking down the barriers between the audience and the performer. A recent Midday Music session on Nov. 9 was titled “Living Trios,” a play off of Living Tree.

Deep Dive celebrates its anniversary and continues to bring in national performances. A Deep Dive into a Local Music Venue With the one-year anniversary of Deep Dive, the performance space continues to celebrate musicians nationwide, including Certainly So, a Nashville-based indie-rock group. TJ Schapner, an Ithaca College alumnus and the co-owner of Deep Dive wanted to focus on creating an inclusive and safe music venue that is open to everyone 18 years and older.

With the 120th Anniversary of The Cornell Concert Series this year, it continues to provide opportunities for students and locals to engage with professionals of their particular genres. With Frank Vignola and Tessa Lark set to perform on November 10th, they unpacked their engagement with jazz and how their relationship has warranted such a unique dynamic. How it started The duo first met when Lark was a student at The Julliard School.
