HURON –– The Huron Post 7 Junior Legion opened the season 1-3 in two home doubleheaders. On Tuesday, May 26, Huron fell twice to Watertown, 12-0 and 14-3. Colt Culver opened the game on the mound, throwing 5 innings, allowing four unearned runs on four hits and two walks, striking out three. He gave way to Brady Wipf, who struggled with command, allowing eight runs over one inning on three hits and six walks. Jimmie Martin concluded the game with a perfect inning of relief.

Huron 13U falls in rain-soaked game against Watertown

HURON –The Huron 13U club battled the elements to get a game finished, but had the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday canceled due to weather, losing to Watertown 10-7 at Klock Field. The visitors jumped out early, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning and pulling out to a 10-2 lead through five innings, but Huron made a valiant effort to pull off the comeback, scoring five in the bottom of the sixth before the game was called at 10-7.

City Commission hears of upcoming homeless meeting

The next meeting of the group will be Saturday, June 13, at 11 a.m., at the Salvation Army chapel.
