A tailings dam safety question answering framework integrating a knowledge graph with retrieval augmented generation
Abstract Tailings dam accidents pose serious threats to public safety and economic stability, creating a strong demand for intelligent information systems that can support emergency response and safety management. To address this challenge, this study proposes TSA-KA, a domain-specific question-answering framework for tailings dam safety that integrates structured knowledge representation with retrieval-augmented response generation.
Integrated proteomics and metabolomics reveal how functional protein supplementation enhances salt tolerance in Zygosaccharomyces rouxii
Abstract Zygosaccharomyces rouxii is a halotolerant yeast widely associated with traditional high-salt food fermentations, while also being recognized as a spoilage microorganism in some food systems. Although its performance in fermented foods is strongly influenced by high salinity, the mechanisms by which nutritional inputs improve halotolerance remain unclear. Using DIA proteomics and UPLC-Orbitrap metabolomics, we evaluated Z.
Enhanced antitumor immunity of mRNA vaccines by bioorthogonal-like delayed activation of exogeneous STING
Abstract The development of cGAS–STING (stimulator of interferon genes) agonists as mRNA vaccine adjuvants has been hampered by widespread STING expression and by the observation that codelivered STING agonists suppress antigen mRNA translation. Here, to address these challenges, we engineer synchronized STING (Syn-STING): a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) codelivering antigen mRNA, mRNA encoding full-length STING transmembrane protein and a bioorthogonal-like delayed-release STING activator, DMXAA.
Enhancing pan-cancer spatial transcriptomics at single-cell resolution with stPainter
Abstract Subcellular spatial transcriptomics can resolve tissue architecture at cellular scale, but sparse gene panels and limited detection sensitivity constrain downstream analysis. Existing enhancement methods often require tissue-matched single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) references and dataset-specific retraining.
A global atlas of soil microbial genetic resources exposes protection shortfalls
|
Abstract Soil-borne microbiomes harbour vital genetic resources, encompassing gene richness and dissimilarity, an indicator of the degree of diversity and distinctiveness exhibited by the gene repertoire of the soil microbiome. These genetic resources underlie key microbial traits and enzyme profiles that support terrestrial ecosystem functioning, including nutrient cycling, plant productivity and soil health.

Your Firm Adopted AI. Did Your Controls Keep Up?
Across Singapore, AI has quietly moved from “nice to have†to “already running half your back office.†Document processing, predictive analytics, client-facing chatbots, even draft financial analysis: AI is in the workflow, often before anyone formally decided it should be. That speed is the problem. MAS, IMDA, and Enterprise Singapore have all built frameworks to support responsible AI adoption; the guidance exists.

To the Editor: We read with great interest the recent multicenter randomized controlled trial published by Banerjee et al,1 which compared the efficacy and safety of fluoroscopy-free direct solitary cholangioscopy (DSC) with traditional endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC) in removing noncomplex bile duct stones. The study found that DSC was noninferior to ERC regarding stone clearance rates and the incidence of serious adverse events.
A Pan-Methylome Framework for Population-Scale Bacterial Epigenomics
1 Introduction Unlike DNA sequence variation exemplified by mutations, rearrangements, or insertions, epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation regulate gene expression and chromatin architecture without altering the underlying nucleotide sequence [1, 2]. In a landmark study, Haghani et al. used conserved CpG methylation profiles from 348 mammalian species to construct phyloepigenetic trees that accurately recapitulate and resolve species-level evolutionary relationships [3].
Comprehensive analysis of differential mRNA, lncRNA and circRNA and their ceRNA network in the Longissimus Dorsi Muscle of Jerseyyak in response to dietary protein levels
Abstract Introduction: The Jersey-yak, a hybrid offspring of Jersey cattle and yak, exhibits characteristics such as strong adaptability, rapid growth and development, and outstanding production performance. Therefore, Jersey-yaks were fed diets with different crude protein (CP) levels (0%, 15.16%, and 17.90% CP, respectively), and the regulatory mechanisms underlying their growth and development were elucidated.
Day–night shifts in microbial activity affecting arsenic and iron in the rice rhizosphere
Abstract Arsenic (As), a toxic element widespread in paddy soils worldwide, is mobilized by microbial processes, posing risks to environmental quality, food safety and human health. The rice rhizosphere is a dynamic environment with day–night cycles in chemical conditions and microbial activity. However, how arsenic itself changes over these daily cycles remains unexplored.
Viral mediation of anaerobic methane oxidation to carbon sequestration in paddy soil
Abstract Anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM) can mitigate global warming by converting methane into either carbon dioxide or soil organic carbon (SOC). However, it is unclear whether soil viruses influence AOM and the associated carbon sequestration processes. Here we quantify the impact of viruses on the carbon sink formed through AOM and reveal the underlying mechanisms using 13C labelling and metagenomics.

These samples were primarily utilized for Western blot (WB) analysis to investigate the expression levels of KLC3 in GC.
Case Report: Hypertensive encephalopathy presents with complex types of sleep breathing events
1 Introduction Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a prevalent etiology of secondary hypertension, often accompanied by symptoms such as dizziness, headache, fatigue, and other manifestations. Blood pressure elevation primarily occurs during the night and is particularly pronounced in the morning hours. In clinical practice, these patients tend to overlook blood pressure monitoring due to their younger age group.

Nitrous oxide sources, mechanisms and mitigation - Nature Reviews Earth & Environment
Abstract Atmospheric nitrous oxide (N2O) is a potent greenhouse gas and ozone-depleting substance. In this Review, we outline global N2O sources, with a focus on hotspots and hot moments, and discuss strategies to mitigate N2O emissions. N2O can be released by natural sources such as bedrock weathering, but anthropogenic sources such as agriculture account for 40% of total emissions.
Study uses passive acoustic monitoring to quantify effects of temperature, ammonia and nitrite nitrogen on Pacific white shrimp feeding
Results demonstrated a significant correlation between the number of clicks and feed consumption in shrimp across different environmental treatments In the complex environment of pond aquaculture, passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) technology has demonstrated considerable potential in intelligent feeding systems for shrimp pond farming due to its independence from visual limitations. Herbivory-induced green leaf volatiles increase plant performance through jasmonate-dependent plant–soil feedbacks - Nature Plants
Abstract Plants influence each other chemically by releasing leaf volatiles and root exudates, but whether and how these two phenomena interact remains unknown. Here we demonstrate that volatiles that are released by herbivore-attacked leaves trigger plant–soil feedbacks, resulting in increased performance of different plant species.
