No, I'm not talking about Marvin Harrison Jr., although his WR9 Average Draft Position (ADP) in current Underdog drafts seems aggressive. The players that worry me more are those with still-undefined roles in landing spots so ideal we'll overlook all the potential negatives. For example . . .

DFS Three And Out 2021 week 16

Im In Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs ($5,800 on DraftKings; $6,500 on FanDuel) Okay. ... Im starting to feel like this is getting too obvious. More specifically, picking on the Steelers run defense -- the one giving up the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs -- makes perfect sense.
Memories and fun as Menantic Yacht Club meets
Ellen Leonforte hiking out approaching the finish of a Menantic Yacht Club race. (Credit: Bob Harris) Mother Nature finally caught up with the Menantic Yacht Club (MYC) this past Sunday, and not in a good way. Usually wind is a sailor’s delight, among other things, but too much wind is just too much. The MYC had to cancel its races on Sunday because the wind was just too strong. At the time of cancellation it was blowing below 20 knots, but forecast to increase and gust upwards of possibly 30.
Fierce competition in West Neck Creek

(Credit: Betsy Colby) Last Sunday proved thrilling and exhausting for most members of the Menantic Yacht Club (MYC) during the running of its fourth series of Sunfish races in West Neck Creek. The wind was blowing from the southwest between 12 and 14 knots with some dead spots and strong gusts all day.
Menantic Yacht Club finds ideal sailing

(Credit: Betsy Colby) After last week’s horrendous, windless conditions, Sunday’s wind, blowing fairly steadily between 5 and 10 knots from the southwest, was ideal for the Menantic Yacht Club’s (MYC) third series of Sunfish races in West Neck Creek. Only 14 sailors participated in the fun on Sunday. Several were worn out from sailing in the “The World’s Longest Sunfish Race, Around Shelter Island, NY” on Saturday.

(Credit: Betsy Colby) The 2021 second series of Sunfish races hosted by the Menantic Yacht Club (MYC) went off with just a minor hitch this past Sunday — the wind. Last week’s steady gale was replaced with a squirrelly northwest wind howling intermittently between zero and 5 knots, not even enough wind to tip a Sunfish.
Magic time for Menantic Yacht Club

With the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, we expect a large turnout and a return to normalcy. However, anyone who feels more comfortable wearing a mask and/or distancing, please feel free to do so.

Sailing: An Etchells for the Island with hopes of many more

Twenty sailors participated weekly on average, and a total of 46 different sailors participated throughout the season. Seven women qualified for the season, a record.

(Credit: Betsy Colby) Not only did the Menantic Yacht Club sail its eighth series of Sunfish races this past Sunday, but we also ran the annual “Up the West Neck Creek (WNC) Race.” This is always an extremely difficult race to sail, and Sunday was no exception. Flipping went without question in the strong quirky wind. The race itself was straightforward.

(Credit: Betsy Colby photo) Menantic Yacht Club (MYC) sailors encountered strong, shifty winds this past Sunday for their eighth series of Sunfish races. Even with strong winds predicted, 16 sailors turned out on Sunday. There were a number of flips and some banging, but overall it was a pretty spectacular day on the water. The annual Up the West Neck Creek (WNC) Race was also held on Sunday.

Rumor had it that Commodore Bethge’s daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Steve Shepstone, both world-class sailors, would make an appearance for just the second time this summer, and they did.

Hardy souls brave the weather for the Menantic Yacht Club

On Sunday it was raining heavily and the forecast called for strong wind in the mid-20’s knot range. In a triumph of prudence over passion, the decision was made to cancel the seventh series of Sunfish races in West Neck Harbor.
Menantic Yacht Club's luck holds with racers and weather

With the wind blowing from the southwest at between 7 and 11 knots, it was another gorgeous day on the water for all 21 sail-ors who participated in the sixth series of Sunfish races this past Sunday. Unlike last week, when the wind was relentless, this week it came in puffs, allowing sailors a little time to rest.

Ryder Cup to be postponed until 2021, Presidents Cup pushed back
BY: Bob Harris, ESPN Senior Writer | July 7, 2020 The decision has loomed for weeks, and the PGA of America made it official Wednesday when it postponed the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. “As disappointing as this is, our mandate to do all we can to safeguard public health is what matters most,” PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh said in a statement.

Menantic Yacht Club comes sailing back
A scene from a race last year. (Credit: Betsy Colby) At the end of May I wasn’t sure that the Menantic Yacht Club (MYC) would be holding any Sunfish racing this summer. However, I’m happy to say that in the past week the Shelter Island Police Department has given us the green light to proceed, and the MYC is now sailing ahead with plans for a strong summer of racing, with safety protocols in place as outlined below.
