The US, Korea, and Japan Share an 80 Year Nuclear Nightmare
On the right corner of my desk, next to my laptop and always in eyeshot, sits a metal model of an atom bomb I assembled from a kit, a model of “Little Boy,“ the bomb the US dropped on Hiroshima. The model is made from aluminum alloy parts and is a one-twelfth scale of the original atom bomb, about nine inches long. The ad for the bomb contained a video with dramatic music showing the model spinning through the air as it falls toward its imagined target. “Perfect for collectors,” the ad boasted.

How Will We Respond Today?
A person escapes slave labor, torture, rape, and murder, and illegally crosses a border to a land where such crimes are outlawed, to a land where people have the right to work for wages and are protected by the law. Anyone in this “Free Land” who harbors or aids such an escapee is subject to federal prosecution, fines, and imprisonment. Yet to turn them over to federal authorities returns these people to a life of wanton violence and suffering.

Trump 2.0, the Next Narrative Original
Americans have long been subjected to political and corporate sleight-of-hand, the creation of a narrative that says it is doing one thing while behind the scenes doing another. America’s corporate tyrants work with our elected officials to claim they are keeping us safe and secure in our continental cocoon of North America as they spend $1 trillion a year preparing for and engaging in war across the globe. This false narrative is part of the long-standing military-industrial complex narrative.

Commentary: U.S. Tax Day, Phil Berrigan and spending on warmaking
Each year Americans forfeit a sizable slice of their income to the United States Treasury to fund the government. Tax Day is dreaded. No one likes surrendering their hard-earned cash. But rather than a resigned shrug, Americans should look closely at what they are getting for their money when it comes to government services and policy. In fiscal year 2023, the Pentagon received $858 billion for the preparation of war.

Tax day and war resistance
Tax day and war resistance For U.S. citizens, the well-known waste and fraud of the Pentagon should be one outrage. The Pentagon remains the only federal department to never pass a required federal audit. The Pentagon cannot account for 63% of the tax money it receives. That’s our money. Gone. Unaccounted for. Lining the pockets of weapons manufacturers.
