An international sailing event that made waves on the Halifax Harbour last weekend was a huge success for the city according to Frank Denis, Executive Director of Sail Nova Scotia. In an interview with Acadia News, Denis says SailGP was so well received people travelled here from across Nova Scotia, Canada and the United States. “It was overwhelming. Police respond to boat collision in Kings County

In an email to Acadia News, RCMP say they got the call around 4:45 p.m. However, police say they are not able to provide details on any injuries or how many people involved at this time. World sprint canoe championship on Lake Banook ‘huge opportunity’

Hundreds of athletes are in town taking part in a world sprint canoe championship on Lake Banook in Dartmouth. Debra Wilson, commodore of the Banook Canoe Club, tells our newsroom that 654 are competing from 54 countries in theICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships. “It’s hugely busy. We’re so lucky to have all this activity,” says Wilson. It runs under the organization Canoe 26 and follows the ICF Master Canoe Sprint World Championship June 25 to 27.
