BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Hi all! THE DAY TODAY: We tracked some severe storms across central Alabama this evening, including one right here in Birmingham. With all the moisture in the air, these storms were able to drop an impressive amount of rain in some areas, causing some areal flooding.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - NEXT 24 HOURS This evening & tonight: We’ve had mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies this afternoon with highs in the low to mid 90s. The heat index this afternoon reached triple digits in some spots, the beginning of a stretch of many days seeing this in the forecast. We haven’t seen any precipitation throughout much of the state this afternoon. It’s been a great weekend to be by the pool or be outdoors.

NEXT 24 HOURS Weather Headlines(WBRC) Tonight: We’ve seen clouds gradually decrease throughout the day, helping temperatures climb into the low 90s this afternoon. As we head through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening, expect partly cloudy skies with just a slight chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm, mainly north of I-20. Humidity will continue to make it feel hotter, with heat index values approaching 100°.
