This retrospective study was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT06725628) on December 9, 2024. A total of 934 patients with confirmed PTC who underwent cervical central lymph node dissection between January 2023 and December 2024 were included. Radiomics features were extracted and selected.
Metabolic engineering and deep learning-driven protein engineering for N-Acetylneuraminic acid biosynthesis in Escherichia coli
Abstract N-Acetylneuraminic acid (NeuAc) is a sialic acid valued in pharmaceuticals and infant nutrition, and microbial synthesis offers a scalable route once the pathway’s catalytic bottlenecks are relieved. We combine deep learning with metabolic engineering to build a high-titer NeuAc-producing E.coli strain. Modular pathway engineering reaches 1.25 g L−1 and pinpoints N-acetylglucosamine 2-epimerase (AGE) as the rate-limiting step.
Insulin is central, plasmapheresis is salvage: clinical spectrum and management of severe hypertriglyceridemia in 21 children with diabetic ketoacidosis
Abstract Background: Severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG), characterized by plasma triglycerides (TG)>11.3 mmol/L is a rare but serious complication in children who develop diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). However, the current body of evidence is predominantly composed of case reports, highlighting a substantial gap in both the understanding and management of this condition.

Biosocial influences of gender identity and geography on mucosal microbial phenotypes
Abstract Transgender women (TGW) experience unique hormonal contexts and high HIV incidence, yet the mucosal microbiome among TGW remains understudied. Sex hormones and geography may shape microbial composition, but the relative contributions of gender identity, feminizing hormone therapy (FHT), and location are unclear.
Deep learning-based intelligent prediction of strata pressure in a steeply inclined fully mechanized longwall face
Abstract Reliable prediction of strata-pressure evolution is essential for intelligent longwall mining, but steeply inclined panels show spatially heterogeneous support loading that challenges short-term warning. Here we analyse two months of hydraulic-support data from Panel II1013 in the Huaibei mining area and develop a local prediction workflow for support-pressure states.
Phenotypic and metabolic characterization of an ADH2 deletion mutant associated with reduced fluconazole susceptibility in Candida albicans
Abstract Introduction: Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADHs) participate in fungal carbon metabolism and redox homeostasis, but the contribution of ADH2 to virulence-associated phenotypes and fluconazole response in Candida albicans (C. albicans) remains incompletely defined. Methods: An ADH2 deletion mutant, adh2Δ/Δ, was generated in a SC5314 genetic background.
Optimal decision-making method for power grid maintenance scheduling during multiple power outage events based on large language models
Abstract Introduction: When several outage maintenance events take place at the same time, the topology and operating mode of the power system change considerably, and experience-based maintenance plans designed for single outage events can no longer capture the combined risk of these events. Methods: This paper proposes an optimal decision-making method for maintenance scheduling during multiple outage events based on a large language model.
Time-dynamic perspectives on cancer therapy–related cardiotoxicity: a systematic review and time-course evidence synthesis for multibiomarker monitoring
Abstract Objective: Current monitoring of cancer therapy–related cardiac dysfunction relies largely on threshold-based interpretation at isolated time points, yet its temporal evolution remains insufficiently characterized.
SMG: The Case for Disaggregating CPU from GPU in LLM Serving
How It Started: Hitting the GIL Wall at Scale We’ve been running production model serving for many years. When we first started building Shepherd Model Gateway, the goal was modest: figure out if cache-aware load balancing could improve routing across inference replicas. It could. And as we went deeper, we found a much bigger problem. In both SGLang and vLLM, tokenization and detokenization had become bottlenecks. Not in theory — in production, under real traffic.
Longitudinal multimorbidity trajectories shape personalized glycaemic patterns
Abstract Older individuals often live with diverse combinations of chronic diseases. However, whether multimorbidity contributes to glycaemic dysregulation remains unclear. Here we show that cumulative disease trajectories shape interindividual glycaemic variability throughout the ageing process.
The impact of antidiabetic drugs on dementia risk: a Bayesian network meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Diabetes is significantly associated with cognitive impairment, particularly the risk of developing dementia. However, the impact of antidiabetic drugs on dementia risk remains unclear. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the effects of different antidiabetic drugs on dementia risk using Bayesian network analysis.
The Case for Delabeling NNAALs in Obstetric Care, With Chang Su, MD
Non-narcotic analgesics allergy labels (NNAAL) significantly elevated rates of eclampsia (aRR, 1.5; 95% CI, 1.06–2.12), preterm birth (aRR, 1.21; 95% CI, 1.14–1.28), NICU admission (aRR, 1.17; 95% CI, 1.10–1.25), and neonatal withdrawal syndrome (aRR, 1.51; 95% CI, 1.24–1.84) among labeled mothers across 2,244,210 California singleton livebirths — point toward a clear intervention target: the family planning stage, before pregnancy makes formal drug challenge testing contraindicated.1,2 At...
Why De-Labeling NNAALs Should Be Routine Obstetrics Care, With Chang Su, MD
With maternal non-narcotic analgesic allergy labels significantly associated with eclampsia (aRR, 1.5; 95% CI, 1.06–2.12), preterm birth (aRR, 1.21; 95% CI, 1.14–1.28), NICU admission (aRR, 1.17; 95% CI, 1.10–1.25), and neonatal withdrawal syndrome (aRR, 1.51; 95% CI, 1.24–1.84) across a California birth cohort of 2,244,210 singleton livebirths, the case for integrating allergy de-labeling into routine obstetric care is compelling.
Non-Narcotic Analgesic Allergy Labels in Pregnancy Drive Suboptimal Care and Adverse Outcomes, With Chang Su, MD
Unverified drug allergy labels are a well-documented driver of suboptimal prescribing — but a large population-based study presented at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) 2026 Annual Meeting held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from February 27 to March 2, now extends that harm into the perinatal setting, showing that mothers carrying non-narcotic analgesic allergy labels face significantly elevated risks of eclampsia, preterm birth, and adverse neonatal outcomes...
scTWAS: a powerful statistical framework for single-cell transcriptome-wide association studies
Abstract Transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) have successfully identified genes associated with complex traits and diseases, but most have been performed using bulk gene expression data, which aggregate signals across heterogeneous cell types. Population-scale single-cell RNA sequencing data now make it possible to perform TWAS at the cell-type resolution, but present unique challenges due to strong noises, technical variations, and high sparsity.

Current Status and Future Direction of the High‐Temperature Resistance in Wheat to Control Stripe Rust
1 Introduction Wheat (Triticum spp.), especially common wheat (T. aestivum), is one of the most widely cultivated staple food crops and the leading source of plant protein for humans. In response to the continuous decrease in wheat-cultivated areas and the growth in population size, the grain yield of wheat must grow at an average annual rate of 2% (Gill et al. 2004). However, wheat production is severely threatened by biotic stresses, including rusts, powdery mildew and Fusarium head blight.

Enhanced dual-active-site VPO-VMoTi tandem catalytic filter for simultaneous removal of NOx and VOCs at low temperatures
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are two highly detrimental gaseous pollutants that often coexist in the industrial flue gases emitted from coal-fired boilers used in waste incineration, metal smelting, coking, and power generation [1], [2], [3]. The primary methods for controlling NOx and VOCs emissions in industrial applications are ammonia-assisted selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) and catalytic oxidation [4], [5], [6].
Insights into pore engineering of covalent organic framework membranes for small molecule separation
Membrane separation technologies, especially nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes, have played a crucial role in the efficient, environmentally friendly, and flexible separation of small molecules [1], [2]. These technologies not only significantly enhance water quality and safety but also offer potential for the efficient utilization of resources. However, the amorphous structure of polymer membranes results in a trade-off between permeability and selectivity [3].
