Viscoelastic Material Constitutive Modeling and Efficient Placement Strategy of Viscoelastic Dampers for Aseismic Design of Buildings
Reinforced concrete (RC) shear walls are widely used in high-rise buildings. However, the RC beams between the shear walls are vulnerable to earthquakes. One viable solution is to substitute these RC beams with replaceable dampers, such as the viscoelastic coupling damper (VCD). This paper presents a comprehensive four-element constitutive model for representative viscoelastic materials (VEMs).

Cox proportional hazards regression was performed to analyze risk factors for infections and HGG. Results: A total of 186 patients were included.
Interfacial pH and O 2 evolution during molybdenum degradation for understanding cytocompatibility
Abstract Direct culturing Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial cells (HUVECs) on Mo reduced viability by ~50% from 24 to 48 h, while an equivalent Mo species maintained >80%, showing cytotoxicity stems from interfacial processes. Local analysis at Mo interface in Hanks’ solution revealed minimal pH change (0.2 unit) but severe oxygen depletion (down to 0.6 ppm) probably facilitated by MoOx. Degrading Mo markedly alters its interfacial microenvironment, likely correlating to cytocompatibility loss.
