Satellite glial cell remodeling associated with IL-6-associated Fas–FasL signaling contributes to chronic neuropathic pain after nerve injury
Abstract Neuropathic pain after peripheral nerve injury is associated with sustained remodeling of the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) microenvironment. Although the neuronal mechanisms have been extensively studied, how neuron–glia–immune interactions contribute to chronic pain maintenance remains unclear. We investigated whether persistent interleukin-6 (IL-6) signaling is linked to Fas–Fas ligand (FasL)-associated satellite glial cell (SGC) remodeling during chronic neuropathic pain.

ABLIM1 supports cerebrovascular endothelial barrier integrity in an IL-1β-treated hCMEC/D3 model
Abstract In Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the role of Actin-binding LIM protein 1 (ABLIM1), which is highly enriched in the brain endothelium, in blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction remains unclear. Our integrative multi-omics analysis, integrating single-cell transcriptomics from AD patient cerebrovascular endothelial cells, transcriptomics from animal models, and vascular endothelial proteomics, identified ABLIM1 as the only overlapping gene across three datasets.

Compression-induced metabolic adaptation drives confined tumor cell migration and distant metastasis via malate-dependent microtubule reinforcement
Abstact Metastasis, responsible for > 90% of cancer-related mortality, represents the most lethal yet least mechanistically understood phase of cancer progression. A critical bottleneck is tumor cell migration through physically confined environments, including dense extracellular matrix, narrow capillaries and endothelial gaps.
Effects of cumulative systolic blood pressure on arterial stiffness: a cross-sectional study based on a community in northern China with 16 years of follow-up
Abstract To determine the impact of cumulative systolic blood pressure (cumulative SBP) on increased arterial stiffness in a northern Chinese community. A total of 427 participants from the Kailuan study were enrolled. The median age was 59.0 years (interquartile range 52.0, 66.0). Cumulative SBP was calculated from BP measurements recorded in 2006–2022 by quartile. Logistic regression was used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and confidence intervals (CIs).

As Open Models Spark AI Boom, NVIDIA Jetson Brings It to Life at the Edge
The Cat 306 CR mini-excavator weighs just under eight tons and fits inside a standard shipping container. It’s the machine a contractor rents when the job site is tight: a utility trench near a foundation, a basement dig in a dense neighborhood. The cab is roughly the size of a phone booth. The operator sits close to the controls, two joysticks, multiple functions per hand. It takes time to learn. It takes longer to speed up.
Inhibiting Mrt4-rRNA interaction with fumaramidmycin-based derivatives as an antifungal strategy - Nature Communications
Abstract The rise of drug resistance and limitations of current antifungal treatments highlight the urgent need for innovative antifungal strategies. Here we present the development of cis-fumaramidmycin-derived analogs inhibiting the interactions of ribosome assembly factor Mrt4 with rRNA to combat fungal infections. Through antifungal screening, we identified a promising lead 20 with strong efficacy against various drug-resistant fungi, including notorious super-fungus Candida auris.

J chain dictates the recognition of IgA by FcRL4
Abstract Fc-receptor-like 4 (FcRL4) selectively recognizes systemic IgA. The cryo-electron microscopy structure of the FcRL4-Fca (IgA-Fc)-Joining (J) chain complex reveals that FcRL4 interacts with Fca-J in a 1:1 stoichiometry, with FcRL4 primarily interacting with the J chain. The binding of Fca-J to FcRL4 would hinder the binding of pIgR, but not FcaRI. These findings provide new insights into IgA and emphasize significant differences between various IgA receptors.
