Anthraquinones derived from soil actinomycetes combat multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus - Communications Biology
Abstract The global spread of multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) poses serious threats to public health and food safety. In this study, the antibacterial potential of the anthraquinone compound 13394-2, derived from soil actinomycetes, was systematically evaluated. In vitro, 13394-2 exhibited potent activity (MIC as low as 0.25 μg/mL), rapid bactericidal effects, biofilm clearance, and concentration-dependent killing.
A testis-specific E3 ubiquitin ligase complex governs spermiogenesis and male fertility - Nature Communications
|
Abstract The ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) represents an evolutionarily conserved machinery governing proteostasis through spatiotemporal regulation of protein degradation. While spermatogenesis involves multilayered regulatory mechanisms spanning translation to dynamic post-translational modifications (PTMs), the identity of UPS-associated E3 ligases orchestrating germ cell-specific protein turnover remains elusive.

Central Airway Recanalisation Using Dual Debulking With Para‐Toluenesulfonamide (CLEAR‐DUAL‐PTS)
1 Introduction Pulmonary adenoid cystic carcinoma (PACC), historically known as ‘cylindroma’, is a rare salivary gland tumour arising from the tracheobronchial submucosal glands, accounting for only 0.04%–0.2% of all primary lung malignancies tumours [1]. It predominantly affects the 40–60 age group. PACC varies in presentations, from asymptomatic to symptomatic, such as cough, dyspnoea, wheezing, haemoptysis, and obstructive pneumonia.

Forecasting constraints on the no-hair theorem from the stochastic gravitational wave background
Although the constraints on general relativity (GR) from each individual gravitational wave (GW) event can be combined to form a cumulative estimate of the deviations from GR, the ever-increasing number of GW events used also leads to the ever-increasing computational cost during the parameter estimation.
FoldToken3: Fold Structures Worth 256 Words or Less
Abstract Protein structure tokenization has attracted increasing attention in both protein representation learning and generation. While recent work, like FoldToken2 and ESM3, has achieved good reconstruction performance, the compressoin ratio is still limited. In this work, we propose FoldToken3, a novel protein structure tokenization method that can compress protein structures into 256 tokens or less and ensure the reconstruction quality comparable to FoldToken2.
High efficient chromatin conformation capture without pre-enrichment (HiChew) in single cells
Abstract This study presents HiChew, a cutting-edge technique for high-efficiency chromatin conformation capture in single cells, without the need for pre-enrichment. This unique approach minimizes the risk of cell or DNA loss. When compared to Dip-C, HiChew captures valid pairs with 4-8 times more efficiency, reducing wastage and saving significant sequencing budget. Furthermore, HiChew delivers a lower false positive ratio, ensuring data accuracy.
Exploring DNA movement through the application of droplet based high efficient chromatin conformation capture (DropHiChew) and loop velocity
Abstract This study presents a novel approach to understanding DNA movement dynamics through the development of a droplet-based, high-efficient chromatin conformation capture method, known as DropHiChew, and a new algorithm, loop velocity. DropHiChew, a user-friendly and cost-effective technique, employs the 10X single-cell systems allowing for easy experimental implementation.

Polyethylenes enjoy wide applications due to their many superior properties. The incorporation of some polar functional groups into the otherwise nonpolar polyethylene backbone can significantly improve many important properties and further broaden their applications. During the past few decades, many catalyst systems have been demonstrated with the capabilities of copolymerizing ethylene with polar monomers.
An Ionic Cluster Strategy for Performance Improvements and Product Morphology Control in Metal-Catalyzed Olefin-Polar Monomer Copolymerization
Product morphology control represents a critical challenge for polyolefin production, but it has remained largely unexplored in the field of ethylene–polar monomer copolymerization. Herein, an ionic cluster strategy was designed to control the product morphology during the synthesis of polar-functionalized polyolefins via precipitation polymerization.
