Students find fun and flexibility in MTU intramural sports – The Lode

Michigan Tech students can now register for fall intramural leagues, with over a dozen sports offered, ranging from basketball and ice hockey to dodgeball and broomball. Sign-ups are open to all students, and leagues are already starting to play this semester. Prospective players can view and register for events at mtu.dserec.com/online/intramurals. Students can also sign up on Banweb to receive one credit for the fall semester.

First USG meeting of the fall semester – The Lode

The first Undergraduate Student Government (USG) meeting happened from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wed, Aug. 27, in the MUB Alumni Lounge. Some of the new developments mentioned include the updated vending machines that now accept dining dollars, along with new microwaves in the library. USG also granted the Sailing Club $952.40 for a Husky Motors rental and gas for travel to Traverse Area Community Sailing Facility, Traverse City. The club will participate on Sept. 6 to 7 in the Gavin D.

Collegedale Community Spark Event Set For Tuesday, April 22nd

On Tuesday, April 22nd, the Collegedale Parks and Recreation Department will host its first Community Spark event at the Collegedale Commons. This event is a partnership with the Tri-Community Fire Department and other local businesses and organizations to share valuable information about fire safety and Earth Day. The aim is to combine educational content with fun activities, encouraging the community to get the “spark” going by engaging in important conversations.
