Machine learning classification of digital exclusion in ageing populations across five international cohorts
Abstract Digital exclusion may limit access to increasingly digital health and public services, yet its cross-national structure and model transportability remain uncertain. We analysed harmonised cross-sectional data from 71,689 middle-aged and older adults in CHARLS, ELSA, HRS, MHAS and SHARE. Digital exclusion was defined as no reported internet or email use, a proxy for basic digital participation.
Predicting optimal CPAP pressure in obstructive sleep apnea among Chinese patients using respiratory endotype derived from polysomnography
Abstract Accurately predicting optimal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) using traditional PSG parameters remains challenging. Respiratory endotypes derived from PSG can reflect the pathophysiological mechanisms of diseases to a certain extent and are expected to provide a novel perspective for individualized pressure prediction. 114 Chinese adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) underwent two overnight in-laboratory PSG recordings.

Inflammatory cytokines induce new cancer dependencies
|
Abstract Tumor cells respond and adapt to environmental stresses that facilitate growth in hostile environments, including cytokine-mediated inflammation elicited by antitumor immunity and enhanced by immune checkpoint blockade (ICB). However, cytokine responses also induce transcriptional and cell-state changes that may predispose tumor cells to new vulnerabilities, which remain poorly explored.

Leveraging Synchrosqueezing Transform (SST)-based representations in a dual-stream attention framework to enhance sleep apnea detection and subtyping
Abstract Introduction: Sleep apnea and hypopnea syndrome (SAHS) is a prevalent disorder with profound adverse effects on health and overall quality of life, thereby necessitating the development of accurate and accessible screening tools. Electrocardiogram (ECG)-based analysis, being non-invasive and readily deployable in low-cost hardware, offers a particularly convenient approach for SAHS screening and preliminary diagnosis.
Glymphatic dysfunction couples with cortical excitation–inhibition imbalance in epilepsy: Evidence from Rasmussen encephalitis
Within-subject analyses in Rasmussen encephalitis (RE) linked a lower diffusion tensor imaging–analysis along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) index to an inhibition-dominant aperiodic EEG profile. Its spatial colocalization with cortical atrophy further strengthened the biological plausibility of this association. Periodic oscillations did not explain DTI-ALPS variance. Findings support a glymphatic–neuronal axis underlying cortical stability in epilepsy.

Case Report: Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma with TFG-ROS1 fusion responds to crizotinib
Introduction Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (MPM), a type of mesothelioma, is a rare and fatal disease. However, its incidence is much lower than that of pleural mesothelioma, accounting for only 7% to 20% of mesothelioma cases (1). MPM may occur at any age, with the median age at diagnosis typically around 50 years, and it is more common in men (2). The clinical symptoms of MPM are highly atypical and may include abdominal pain, bloating, weight loss, ascites, and anorexia.

Utilizing Centromedian Thalamus Connectivity to Personalize Noninvasive Neuromodulation Targets
1 Introduction The centromedian nucleus (CM) is a part of the intralaminar thalamic nucleus and is involved in relaying sensory and motor information to and from the cerebral cortex. The CM is situated within the central region of the thalamus, and its connections extend to various brain regions, including the basal ganglia, limbic system, and cerebral cortex. This extensive network of connections suggests that the CM is involved in a wide range of cognitive, motor, and emotional processes [1].

Development of a humanized mouse model with functional human materno-fetal interface immunity
Abstract Materno-fetal immunity possesses specialized characteristics to ensure pathogen clearance while maintaining tolerance to the semiallogeneic fetus. Most of our understanding on human materno-fetal immunity is based on conventional rodent models that may not precisely represent human immunological processes owing to the huge evolutionary divergence.

Extracellular Vesicles‐Derived Hybrid Nanoplatforms for Amplified CD47 Blockade‐Based Cancer Immunotherapy
Abstract Immunomodulation of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) into tumor-inhibiting M1-like phenotype is a promising but challenging strategy. Cleverly, tumor cells overexpress CD47, a “don't eat me” signal that ligates with the signal regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα) on macrophages to escape phagocytosis. Thus, effective re-education of TAMs into “eat me” type and blocking the CD47-SIRPα signaling play pivotal roles in tumor immunotherapy.

The Effect of Coupled Electroencephalography Signals in Electrooculography Signals on Sleep Staging Based on Deep Learning Methods
Abstract : The influence of the coupled electroencephalography (EEG) signal in electrooculography (EOG) on EOG-based automatic sleep staging has been ignored. Since the EOG and prefrontal EEG are collected at close range, it is not clear whether EEG couples in EOG or not, and whether or not the EOG signal can achieve good sleep staging results due to its intrinsic characteristics. In this paper, the effect of a coupled EEG signal in an EOG signal on automatic sleep staging is explored.

Allosteric Activators of Protein Phosphatase 2A Display Broad Antitumor Activity Mediated by Dephosphorylation of MYBL2
Highlights • Phenothiazine analog iHAP1 activates PP2A-B56ε and potently kills malignant cells • iHAP1 does not inhibit dopamine signaling or cause prohibitive neurologic toxicity • PP2A-B56ε dephosphorylates MYBL2-Ser241, causing prometaphase arrest with apoptosis • Other PP2A activators, SMAPs, activate PP2A-B55α and target different substrates Summary Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) enzymes can suppress tumors, but they are often inactivated in human cancers overexpressing inhibitory proteins.
Characterization of epigenetic and transcriptional landscape in infantile hemangiomas with ATAC-seq and RNA-seq
Infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are the most common benign vascular tumors in infants. IHs are typically noticed within a few days of birth and undergo a unique course of disease, wherein a rapid proliferating phase is followed by spontaneous regression. In approximately 10–15% of cases, IHs cause disfigurement and dysfunction due to rapid proliferation of the tumor [1]. The pathogenesis of IHs, and factors that cause spontaneous regression after the proliferation remain unclear.
Raman determination of carrier concentration in ZnO-based heterostructure light-emitting diodes
Abstract Understanding of the carrier concentration properties of current spreading layers in LED devices is important although difficult to achieve. Here, we present a solution to determine the carrier concentration for current spreading layers in ZnO-based LEDs, based on Raman spectroscopy. Raman spectra and lineshape fitting indicate a hole concentration below 1×1018cm−3 in the p-type region and an electron concentration of 1.21×1019cm−3 in n-type.
Circular RNA profile of infantile hemangioma by microarray analysis
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a recently identified class of noncoding RNAs that participate in several physiological processes. However, the expression of circRNAs in infantile hemangioma (IH) remains unknown. The profile of circRNAs was assessed by microarray in four pairs of IH and adjacent skin tissues. The expression of circRNAs was validated by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).
