NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) - The Navasota Police Department hosted a “250 pound” bench press challenge in honor of America 250, drawing law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and community members to Wilson’s Gym for a Fourth of July weekend event. Men attempted a 250-pound bench press, while women lifted 135 pounds. Participants who completed at least one rep earned a special challenge coin purchased by the department.

Major David Swyers was introduced as the organization’s newest commanding officer. His family’s connection to the Salvation Army began in 1932, when his grandfather was commissioned as an officer. A legacy rooted in stewardship Swyers said his grandfather’s guiding principle was simple: leave things better than you find them.

Pin To Go, owned and operated by Chris Pinto and his wife, Brynn, launched this past year. The business brings a fully enclosed inflatable golf bay to any location, including private residences, parks and studios.
