NASCAR explains why William Sawalich escaped a penalty
Corey Day and William Sawalich have built a history. At this point, they have a full feud going on in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series. Two weeks ago, Day hooked Sawalich into the outside wall at Darlington Raceway. That was only the latest in a string of incidents this season. One week later, Day missed the bottom and got into the door of Sawalich. The two drivers then made more contact off turn two. Down the backstretch, Sawalich hooked a hard left. He sent Corey Day spinning into the inside wall.
Denny Hamlin calls on NASCAR not to penalize William Sawalich
Two weeks ago, Corey Day got into William Sawalich at Darlington Raceway. Sawalich picked up heavy damage in the incident. The very next week, Day missed the bottom and ran into the door of Sawalich into turn one at WWT Raceway. They made more contact off turn two. Down the backstretch, Sawalich turned left. He sent Day into the inside wall as a high-rate of speed. Justified? Likely. But, retaliation is the only word for it and NASCAR has a penalty for that.

Last week, Corey Day clipped William Sawalich in the left rear exiting turn four. Day missed the bottom and ran wide, clipping the No. 18. Sawalich wiggled to the inside. The outside lane opened, for only a second. Day stuck his nose on the outside but the hole closed fast. Sawalich was turned into the outside wall down the backstretch. “I have no doubt that he’s going to try and wreck me or make my life difficult for the rest of these races,” Corey Day stated after Darlington.

Geographic disparities and predictors of suicide mortality risk in Florida: spatial scan statistics and negative binomial modeling
This study investigated county-level geographic disparities between 2011 and 2019 and predictors of suicide mortality risks in Florida between 2017 and 2019. Results show evidence of geographic disparities in suicide mortality risks in the state. A number of predictors of the identified disparities were identified. The findings provide useful information to guide needs-based resource allocation to reduce disparities in suicide mortalities (Saman et al., 2012; O’Rourke, Jamil & Siddiqui, 2018).

Dept of Transportation dispute with the Mexican government could affect business and Minnesota’s Latino Community
Since 2017, the Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA) between Delta Air Lines and Aeroméxico has fostered economic growth, created jobs, and supported more convenient, affordable air travel between the United States and Mexico. Now, those benefits could soon be jeopardized by a recent Department of Transportation (DOT) decision to potentially terminate approval of the JCA.
Online Retailers Frustrated That FTC Fake-Review Ban Would Give Tech Giants a Pass
A hearing Tuesday on the Federal Trade Commission’s proposed rule to crack down on fake online reviews regurgitated previous concerns that it targets individual businesses rather than third-party platforms and tech companies that profit from reviews—real or fake. The hearing appeared to be little more than a formality, with the FTC inviting only three speakers and offering no indication on whether the proposed rule—rolled out last June—might be modified or when it could be adopted.

Business in California: Website Accessibility Suits
As in-house counsel, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a law that may have been brought to your attention. If so, it likely would have been in relation to the ADA’s strict design requirements for physical access to businesses open to the public. You are less likely to be aware of the court-led expansion of that law to include reasonable efforts to make a business’s website accessible for visually impaired customers.
