In a blog post published Friday, Buttigieg says a police officer and a CPS worker showed up at his family home in Traverse City, Michigan — where he lives with his husband,, Chasten, and their 4-year-old twin daughters — and he was forced to avoid being alone with his children for 24 hours.

Flint parents charged with murder in death of severely overweight 7-year-old son

Flint Township, Michigan parents face second-degree murder and child abuse charges after their 7-year-old son, who weighed 255 pounds at the time of his death, succumbed to heart failure linked to morbid obesity. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton announced the charges Wednesday against Damien O’Brien, 40, and his wife Jessica O’Brien, 41, in connection with the death of their son Casper. The boy stood 4-foot-2 and died November 4, 2025, after being rushed to Hurley Medical Center in Flint.
