Associations between a series of composite glucose-lipid indices and moderately increased albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: a cross-sectional study
Abstract Purpose: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) represents one of the most significant microvascular complications associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Moderately increased albuminuria, defined as a urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) of 30–300 mg/g, is widely recognized as an early indicator of renal injury in patients with T2DM. Previous studies have confirmed the role of glucolipotoxicity in the progression of DKD.
The CD47 signaling axis regulates the formation and vulnerability of atherosclerotic plaques: mechanism analysis and targeting strategies
Abstract CD47-centered signaling, involving the functionally distinct CD47–SIRPα and TSP-1–CD47 axes, has been increasingly implicated in the regulation of vascular inflammation, cellular clearance, and atherosclerotic plaque remodeling. This review examines these signaling pathways within two interrelated pathological dimensions: plaque formation and plaque vulnerability.
Improved positive predictive value of non-invasive prenatal testing through integration with second-trimester ultrasound soft markers for fetal chromosomal abnormalities: a retrospective cohort study
Abstract Background: Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) achieves high sensitivity for common fetal aneuploidies; however, its positive predictive value (PPV) varies substantially with population prevalence, generating a considerable false-positive burden. Current guidelines offer limited guidance on ultrasound-based risk refinement after a positive NIPT result.

Increased PRSS56 expression is a causal factor and therapeutic target for human axial high myopia
Abstract High myopia (HM), characterized by significant ocular axial length elongation, affects hundreds of millions of people and is often inherited, particularly in cases that develop during childhood or adolescence. Although numerous myopia loci (MYP) have been identified, most causative genes remain undefined.

Contextualizing contemporary seasonality variations in East Asian tropical cyclone landfalls with a multi-century historical baseline - npj Climate and Atmospheric Science
Abstract Paleoclimate records provide a critical long-term perspective on natural climate variability, essential for understanding contemporary climate variations. However, existing paleoclimate proxies lack sufficient spatial-temporal coverage for studying high-impact weather extremes like tropical cyclones (TCs).

4Pi stimulated Raman scattering for label-free super-resolution chemical imaging
Abstract Super-resolution fluorescence microscopy has transformed biological imaging beyond the diffraction limit. However, many biomolecules, nanostructures, drug molecules, and metabolites cannot be easily tagged, requiring a label-free imaging approach.
Future extreme precipitation amplified by intensified mesoscale moisture convergence - Nature Geoscience
|
Abstract Extreme precipitation events are driven by complex multiscale atmospheric dynamic interactions, fuelled by available moisture. They are expected to intensify with climate change, posing increasing risks to human communities and ecosystems. However, current low-resolution climate models struggle to accurately represent key extreme precipitation-generating phenomena, limiting our ability to generate robust and reliable future projections.

Response of the upper ocean to northeast Pacific atmospheric rivers under climate change - Communications Earth & Environment
Abstract Atmospheric rivers are important transport vehicles for Earth’s water cycle. Using a high-resolution, eddy-resolving Earth System Model, atmospheric river impacts on the upper ocean are investigated by analyzing historical and climate change simulations. For atmospheric rivers along the North American coastline, strong winds cause significant dynamic and thermodynamic upper ocean responses.
Prolonged remission with ibrutinib maintenance therapy following radiation in a patient with relapsed primary CNS lymphoma
1. Introduction Primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare and aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that originates in lymphocytes and develops in the CNS, specifically the brain, spinal cord, eyes, or leptomeninges. PCNSL has an incidence rate of 0.5 per 100,000 persons per year, with 1500 new cases per year in the USA alone [1]. The outcomes of PCNSL are suboptimal. Left untreated, the median overall survival (OS) is approximately 1.5 months [2].
N‐Isopropylbenzylamine‐induced conditioned place preference, sensitization behaviour and self‐administration in rodents
1 INTRODUCTION Drug addiction is characterized by pathological neuroadaptation for the long term use of drug, accompanied with the emergence of aberrant behaviours, which can be assessed by using animal models such as drug place preference, behavioural sensitization and self-administration.

Analysis of Emissions Profiles of Hydraulic Fracturing Engine Technologies
1. Introduction The oil and gas industry has experienced growth in natural gas production over the past decade due to unconventional well development in shale gas basins utilizing hydraulic fracturing to perform well stimulation. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported that the share of natural gas as an energy source has increased from 17% to 36% of total U.S. energy consumption from 1950-2021 [1].

Ocean fronts and eddies force atmospheric rivers and heavy precipitation in western North America
Abstract Atmospheric rivers (ARs) are responsible for over 90% of poleward water vapor transport in the mid-latitudes and can produce extreme precipitation when making landfall. However, weather and climate models still have difficulty simulating and predicting landfalling ARs and associated extreme precipitation, highlighting the need to better understand AR dynamics.
The Coming Wave of ML Systems
AI and ML products now permeate every aspect of our digital lives–from recommendations of what to watch, to divining our search intent, to powering increasingly-present virtual assistants in consumer and enterprise settings. While quality improvements are the main focus of traditional ML and AI research, a second and arguably less well understood benefit of machine learning is that it can dramatically reshape the practice of building applications.

Label-free Imaging of Neurotransmitter Acetylcholine at Neuromuscular Junctions with Stimulated Raman Scattering
Acetylcholine is an important neurotransmitter that relays neural excitation from lower motor neurons to muscles. It also plays significant roles in the central nervous system by modulating neurotransmission. However, there is a lack of tools to directly measure the quantity and distribution of acetylcholine at the subcellular level.
