(WSFA) - We had some scattered showers and thunderstorms around the area again today, but for the most part, those have dissipated tonight with the exception of a few continuing west of I-65. Those should also diminish as we lose daytime heating as the sun sets. Tomorrow will feature similar chances for showers and thunderstorms.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - After a very warm and fairly dry start to the holiday weekend, we’re expecting more in the way of showers and thunderstorms today. We’ve already seen a localized spot of 2-3 inches of rainfall in northern Chambers County earlier this morning, with the rain finally tapering off there. Radar Scattered showers and thunderstorms are starting to build elsewhere in the area, with pop-up storms possible through the evening into the overnight hours.
