Side-scan sonar target detection using YOLOv26n with gated Output-16 and MPDIoU-NWD
Abstract Small sonar targets often have weak visual cues, blurred boundaries, and complex seafloor backgrounds. These conditions weaken features and make box regression unstable. This study develops a YOLOv26n detector with Gated Output-16 and MPDIoU-NWD. Gated Output-16 is placed after the complete C3k2 output at the P3 detection head. It uses grouped gates and an EMA residual update. The gates start at zero, preserving the original feature path at initialization.

RUNX2 promotes osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption via the newly identified LncRNA-ROD : implications for alveolar remodeling
|
Abstract Delayed tooth eruption is a hallmark of cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) caused by RUNX2 haploinsufficiency, yet the underlying molecular mechanism remains undefined. Here, we show that RUNX2 regulates osteoclast-mediated alveolar bone remodeling, a process closely associated with tooth eruption. Runx2+/− mice exhibit impaired osteoclast differentiation and reduced alveolar bone resorption, resulting in delayed mandibular molar eruption—a phenotype that recapitulates human CCD.

Genome-wide identification of the aldo-keto reductase gene family and functional characterization of CsAKRIVB2 conferring cold tolerance in tea plant ( Camellia sinensis )
Abstract Aldo-keto reductases (AKRs) are a superfamily of NADPH-dependent oxidoreductases that play a crucial role in detoxifying reactive carbonyl species and maintaining redox homeostasis under abiotic stresses. However, systematic characterization of AKRs and their functional roles in cold stress responses in tea plants (Camellia sinensis) remain largely unexplored. We identified 48 CsAKR genes genome-wide and classified them into four groups.

The lipid profiles of the subjects were measured, including the total cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TG).
Performance evaluation of YOLO models for target detection from ocean sidescan sonar imagery
Abstract Sidescan sonar images suffer from strong seabed clutter, low gray contrast of underwater targets and frequent missed small targets. Current detection models struggle to balance detection accuracy, inference speed and embedded deployment. To solve these problems, this paper selects six mainstream one-stage detection models, YOLOv4, YOLOv6, YOLOv7, YOLOv9, YOLOv13n and YOLO26n, for comparative experiments. Two sidescan sonar datasets D1 and D2 with distinct imaging features are built.

To identify genomic regions controlling photoperiodic flowering, we performed bulked segregant analysis sequencing (BSA-seq) coupled with fine linkage mapping using an F2 population derived from a cross between day-neutral (Bubble Kush) and short-day (Aquawoman) accessions.
Accurately modeling resting-brain functional connectivity using hypergraph neural field-Fourier deep neural network
Abstract Revealing the relationship between resting-state human brain structure and function is a central question for understanding brain cognition and neuropsychiatric disorders, while the problem still remains largely unanswered. Graph diffusion (GD) model predicts functional connectivity (FC) from structural connectivity (SC), which makes the assumption that current signals of each brain region conform to exponential decay once activated.

Humans and other animals learn from feedback, by tending to repeat rewarded behavior and change behavior that receives negative feedback. Previous findings suggest that feedback does not need to be consciously perceived in order to be effective. Using continuous flash suppression, we presented participants with visible and invisible positive and negative feedback during a time estimation task while recording EEG.

Interpreting blood–brain barrier bypass claims in reperfused stroke: a minimum reporting framework for intracalvarial immune-assisted nanoparticle delivery
Introduction Discoveries of skull-associated immunity and skull–meningeal vascular channels have changed how neuroimmune trafficking is understood. These channels connect calvarial marrow and meningeal or brain-border compartments, and calvarial marrow can serve as a local myeloid reservoir for central nervous system (CNS) inflammation (–). Intracalvarial or intracalvariosseous delivery has therefore attracted interest as a potential route for CNS drug delivery in stroke (, ).
