HI, I am Daniel Carde, a freelancer based in the Beirut, Lebanon since February 2020.

I began freelancing full-time in April 2019 and was based in San Antonio, Texas after completing a six month internship at The Dallas Morning News.

Prior to the internship, I attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXX and Missouri Photo Workshop 70. As a student I worked on personal projects in Cambodia documenting landmine removal and landmine survivors, I documented the conflict against the Islamic State in Iraq…

What was your first job as a journalist?

Photographer at a student newspaper.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

I don't like the "voice for the voiceless" saying. Being a journalist means I share people's stories. They have a voice, I amplify it.
