Brain Morphology Mediators of the Association of Childhood Trauma With Bipolar Disorder : An International ENIGMA Bipolar Disorder Working Group Study
Brain Morphology Mediators of the Association of Childhood Trauma With Bipolar Disorder: An International ENIGMA Bipolar Disorder Working Group Study Key Points Question Is the association of childhood trauma and bipolar disorder mediated by brain structure?
Cerebral cortical alterations in adolescent early-onset psychosis: a surface-based morphometry mega-analysis
|
Abstract Cortical brain morphology in early-onset psychosis (EOP; age of onset <19 years) is poorly understood, partly due to recruitment constraints linked to its low incidence. We pooled T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from 387 adolescents with EOP (mean age=16.1 ± 1.5; 49.6% female) and 338 healthy controls (CTR; mean age=15.8 ± 1.9, 54.4% female) from nine research sites worldwide.

Structural brain abnormalities and aggression in schizophrenia: mega-analysis of data from 2095 patients and 2861 healthy controls via the ENIGMA consortium | Molecular Psychiatry
|
Abstract It is hypothesised that structural brain abnormalities in individuals with schizophrenia are associated with aggressive behaviour, but this has not been tested directly. We pooled magnetic resonance imaging and clinical data from 2095 patients and 2861 healthy control subjects across 20 sites of the ENIGMA-Schizophrenia Working Group.

Contribution of Cerebellar Glutamatergic and GABAergic Systems in Premotor and Early Stages of Parkinson’s Disease
Submitted: 15 October 2025 You are already at the latest version Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a multisystem disorder, with early changes extending beyond basal ganglia circuitries and involving non-dopaminergic pathways, including cerebellar networks. Whether cerebellar dysfunction reflects a compensatory mechanism or an intrinsic hallmark of disease progression remains unresolved.

Mapping gray and white matter volume abnormalities in early-onset psychosis: an ENIGMA multicenter voxel-based morphometry study - Molecular Psychiatry
|
Abstract Regional gray matter (GM) alterations have been reported in early-onset psychosis (EOP, onset before age 18), but previous studies have yielded conflicting results, likely due to small sample sizes and the different brain regions examined. In this study, we conducted a whole brain voxel-based morphometry (VBM) analysis in a large sample of individuals with EOP, using the newly developed ENIGMA-VBM tool. 15 independent cohorts from the ENIGMA-EOP working group participated in the study.

Cortical morphology in patients with the deficit and non-deficit syndrome of schizophrenia: a worldwide meta- and mega-analyses - Molecular Psychiatry
Abstract Converging evidence suggests that schizophrenia (SZ) with primary, enduring negative symptoms (i.e., Deficit SZ (DSZ)) represents a distinct entity within the SZ spectrum while the neurobiological underpinnings remain undetermined.

In vivo white matter microstructure in adolescents with early-onset psychosis: a multi-site mega-analysis - Molecular Psychiatry
|
Study sample The ENIGMA-EOP Working Group obtained case-control data from nine cohorts across seven countries (for information on each cohort, please see Supplementary Table S1, S2, and S3), yielding imaging and clinical data on a combined total of 321 adolescents with early-onset psychosis (EOP) and 265 age-matched healthy controls. Participants were aged 12 to 18 years at MRI image acquisition.
