Syracuse, N.Y. — Damarion “Poppa” Jones and Jonah Tanner met as toddlers about 12 years ago. They became inseparable. They shared everything – video games, music, money, time, loyalty and a blue Nike hoodie that sits folded on the bed in Damarion’s room where the awful thing happened last week. Damarion, 16, was a funny teen who could tease and tell a story. He acted as Jonah’s protector and made sure Jonah was included in things. Jonah, 13, was an outgoing kid who liked music and football.
