Considering the start to the season No. 15 Michigan Tech have had, it seemed like a bit of a long shot that a winless Alabama-Huntsville squad could come in and take away a regulation win from the MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Yet that is just what the Chargers did Saturday, 4-2. It was not the type of game Chargers coach Mike Corbett would want to brag about, given that they gave the Huskies four of their eight power plays in the third period, but it was a win all the same.

As the lone team returning to the NCAA Frozen Four, the top-ranked Denver Pioneers come in as the favorites to get to the title game, but sitting directly in their path is a hot Notre Dame Fighting Irish team with an experienced goaltender and some talented forwards who could make life difficult. The Fighting Irish are built from the back end out, and it all starts with their veteran goaltender Cal Petersen.

HANCOCK - It would be easy to look at Wednesday night's 4-3 loss by the Finlandia Lions women's hockey as just another loss. Few programs have been through a worse stretch since 2010, as the Lions have won just twice in 142 games. To make matters worse, the Lions lost to a first-year program in the Northland College Lumberjills. However, one thing was apparent to those in attendance at the Houghton County Arena: This is not the Lions of old who were satisfied with just showing up.
