The role of the gut–lung axis in persistent inflammation and disease progression in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: mechanistic evidence and therapeutic implications
Abstract Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a highly prevalent chronic respiratory disease worldwide, and the mechanisms underlying its persistent airway inflammation, systemic inflammation, and acute exacerbations remain incompletely understood.
Childhood asthma and the microbiome: from gut-lung axis mechanisms to precision prevention strategies
Abstract Childhood asthma is a highly heterogeneous chronic respiratory disease, and its onset and progression are intricately linked to genetic susceptibility, environmental exposure, immune development, and the establishment of the early-life microbiome.
Tuning electron back-donation to switch reaction pathway in CO 2 hydrogenation
Abstract CO2 hydrogenation over earth-abundant Ni catalysts is attractive for CO-based fuel synthesis, but Ni intrinsically favors methanation. Here we show that ordered Ni3Sn2 intermetallics tune Ni–CO electron back-donation and switch CO2 hydrogenation from CH4 formation to the reverse water–gas shift reaction.
Seedance 2.0: Advancing Video Generation for World Complexity
Abstract Seedance 2.0 is a multi-modal audio-video generation model that supports text, image, audio, and video inputs with improved generation quality and speed. AI-generated summary Seedance 2.0 is a new native multi-modal audio-video generation model, officially released in China in early February 2026. Compared with its predecessors, Seedance 1.0 and 1.5 Pro, Seedance 2.0 adopts a unified, highly efficient, and large-scale architecture for multi-modal audio-video joint generation.
Interfacial Ru/RuO x heterostructures on carbon support regulate selectivity in lignin hydrodeoxygenation
Abstract Constructing well-defined heterostructure interfaces in catalysts provides an approach to modulate scaling constraints and steer reaction pathways in biomass upgrading. Herein, we demonstrate that thermal restructuring of hydroxyl groups on carbon nanofibers (CNF) induces the formation of heterostructures of Ru/RuOx, which function as bifunctional active sites for the one-pot hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of lignin to liquid hydrocarbons.
Synergistic non-bonding diatomic Pt sites for efficient hydrogenation of nitro compounds - Nature Communications
Abstract Precisely constructed diatomic metal sites that bridge the gap between single-atom dispersion and cluster-like synergy offer a promising strategy to overcome the activity-selectivity trade-off in heterogeneous catalysis. In this work, we report the synthesis of a non-bonding diatomic Pt2-ND@G catalyst via a two-step atomic layer deposition for the selective hydrogenation of m-dinitrobenzene.
Association between WeChat-based remote care guidance and diabetic foot ulcer healing: a retrospective cohort study
This study appraised the efficacy of WeChat-based remote guidance in expediting the healing of diabetic foot ulcers through a 24-month longitudinal observation. The study encompassed 131 patients afflicted with diabetic foot ulcers, employing a standardised remote management process and a wound assessment methodology. A comprehensive evaluation was conducted utilising the WHOQOL-BREF and DTSQS scales.
Rationalizing the d-Band Model from Theory to Practice in Catalyst Design
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Catalyst design remains central to the industrial implementation of catalytic processes, and the descriptor-based approach marks a pivotal milestone toward more rational design strategies. Among various descriptors, the d-band has emerged as one of the most thoroughly investigated and theoretically grounded concepts, underpinning fundamental models of adsorbate–metal interactions.
Monsoon winds create an expressway for migratory shorebirds on the East Asia-Australasian Flyway - Communications Earth & Environment
Abtract Billions of birds have adapted to traveling life, with the atmosphere playing an essential role in their migration. In Asia, monsoons represent a dominant large-scale circulation that may shape migration along the East Asia-Australasian Flyway.

Fully exposed Ptn cluster catalysts enable cascade oxidation of polyol to dicarboxylic acid - Nature Communications
Abstract The polyol oxidation to dicarboxylic acid, a crucial value-accretive reaction, is still challenging due to the paradoxical relationship between efficient activation of C-H bond and rapid desorption of carboxylic acid. Herein, we break this contradiction by constructing fully exposed Ptn cluster supported on hydroxyapatite (Ptn/HAP) to promote two primary hydroxyl groups of polyol oxidation to dicarboxylic acid.
Association of Systemic Inflammatory Biomarkers (NLR, MLR, PLR, SII, S
Introduction Preeclampsia (PE), a hypertensive disorder unique to pregnancy, is responsible for nearly 14% of maternal mortality worldwide.1 Acute kidney injury (AKI), a severe complication of PE, occurs in up to 15% of cases and is associated with adverse outcomes including prolonged renal dysfunction, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and elevated perinatal mortality.2 The pathophysiology of PE-related AKI ((PE-AKI)) involves a complex interplay between hemodynamic alterations and inflammatory...
The evolution of sexual dichromatism in a large radiation of landfowl: Re-examining female-biased selection in Wallace's model
Abstract Sexual dichromatism is generally thought to arise from sexual selection favouring elaborately coloured males, as proposed in Darwin's model. Wallace offers an expanded perspective, emphasising that the evolution of cryptic and dim female colouration to evade nest predation significantly contributed to the origin of sexual dichromatism. However, previous studies on the evolutionary forces of sexual dichromatism examining Darwin's and Wallace's models have produced mixed results.

Constructing Highly Efficient Catalysts for the 1‐Butene Epoxidation
Epoxides are high-valued intermediates in the production of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and polymers. Given the growing demand for epoxides, it is imperative to develop more environmentally friendly and sustainable routes instead of the chlorohydrin process. Notably, the direct utilization of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for the epoxidation reaction presents significant advantages from both environmental and economic perspectives.

Discovery of a Novel Glucagon-like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) Analogue from Bullfrog and Investigation of Its Potential for Designing GLP-1-Based Multiagonists Original
In this study, we aimed to discover novel GLP-1 analogues from natural sources. We investigated GLP-1 analogues from fish and amphibians, and bullfrog GLP-1 (bGLP-1) showed the highest potency. Starting with bGLP-1, we explored the structure–activity relationship and performed optimization and long-acting modifications, resulting in a potent analogue called 2f. Notably, 2f exhibited superior effects on food intake, glycemic control, and body weight compared to semaglutide.
