In ‘This Week in History,’ experiments suggested ‘seeding’ could manipulate the weather, leading scientists and the military to try to control nature. “There was a roaring hammering of the rain on the airframe, a wild roar.” That is how one United States Navy pilot described flying into a hurricane. The hurricane is one of the most destructive of all natural phenomena and one that pilots would seem to avoid at all costs.
