Viscoelasticity-guided covalent assembly of atomically precise nanoclusters via nitrene-mediated two-photon lithography
Abstract The translation of atomically precise metal nanoclusters into functional macroscopic devices is restricted by the difficulty of scaling manufacturing while preserving fragile quantum structures. Although two-photon lithography offers a route for micro-fabrication, the absence of definitive physical criteria to predict “printability” results in inconsistent fabrication outcomes.
Unified framework for isolation analysis in microwave photonic circulators
We present a generalized analytical framework for characterizing the isolation performance of microwave photonic circulators under both small- and large-signal conditions. Validated using a system comprising a laser diode, an electro-optic phase modulator, and a photodetector, the model evaluates isolation by applying radio-frequency signals to both ends of the modulator electrode and analyzing the output power spectrum.
Periovulatory neurohormone dynamics reveal an association between secretoneurin and GnRH across the mouse estrous cycle
1 Introduction The neuroendocrine control of ovulation is fundamental for successful reproduction. Rodent and fish models have been essential for understanding how neuropeptides regulate the pulsatile and surge release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which in turn drives pituitary luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion (1–4). During the periovulatory period, a surge of LH later induces ovulation.
A deep learning and large language hybrid workflow for omics interpretation - Nature Biomedical Engineering
Abstract Profiling molecular panorama from massive omics data identifies regulatory networks in cells but requires mechanistic interpretation and experimental follow up. Here we combine deep learning and large language model reasoning to develop a hybrid workflow for omics interpretation, called LyMOI. LyMOI incorporates GPT-3.5 for biological knowledge reasoning and a large graph model with graph convolutional networks (GCNs).
Weakly Anisotropic Superconductivity of Pr4Ni3O10 Single Crystals
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! High-temperature superconductivity has recently been observed in nickelate-based superconductors, (1−7) prompting natural comparisons with cuprates and FeSCs. Cuprates, which are characterized by the layered crystal structures and quasi-two-dimensional electronic properties, exhibit pronounced anisotropy in superconducting properties.
Bulk superconductivity up to 96 K in pressurized nickelate single crystals - Nature
Abstract Recently, the Ruddlesden-Popper bilayer nickelate La3Ni2O7 has emerged as a superconductor with a transition temperature (Tc) of ~80 K above 14 GPa1-3. Achieving higher Tc in nickelate superconductors, along with the synthesis of reproducible high-quality single crystals without relying on high oxygen-pressure growth conditions, remains a significant challenge4-7.

Pressure induced superconductivity in hybrid Ruddlesden‒Popper La5Ni3O11 single crystals - Nature Physics
Abstract The discovery of high-temperature superconductivity under high pressure in Ruddlesden–Popper phase nickelates has captured notable attention in the condensed matter physics community. Here we report superconductivity in a distinct hybrid nickelate, La5Ni3O11, formed by alternating stacks of La3Ni2O7 and La2NiO4 layers. This nickelate also exhibits a density-wave transition at approximately 170 K near ambient pressure.

Defect-Passivated InGaZnO/In2O3 Stacked Thin-Film Transistor with Visible-Light-Assisted Recovery for Room-Temperature ppb-Level NO₂ Detection The hierarchical stacking of oxide semiconductors presents a transformative strategy to address intrinsic defect limitations in amorphous metal oxide semiconductor (MOS)-based thin-film transistors (TFTs).
Preserving high-pressure solids via freestanding thin-film engineering - Nature Communications
Abstract High pressure can significantly alter atomic and electronic structures of materials, resulting in unique properties. However, pressure-induced changes are often reversible, limiting their fundamental research and practical applications under ambient conditions. Here, we introduce a general method to preserve high-pressure solids under ambient conditions.
Bulk Superconductivity in Pressurized Trilayer Nickelate ${\mathrm{Pr}}_{4}{\mathrm{Ni}}_{3}{\mathrm{O}}_{10}$ Single Crystals
The discovery of superconductivity in pressurized bilayer and trilayer nickelates has generated significant interest. However, their superconducting properties often depend on sample quality and pressure conditions, complicating the interpretation of the underlying physics. Therefore, finding new systems with optimized bulk superconducting properties is crucial for advancing our understanding of these materials.
Superconductivity in Trilayer Nickelate ${\mathrm{La}}_{4}{\mathrm{Ni}}_{3}{\mathrm{O}}_{10}$ under Pressure
Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) phases, a class of layered perovskite materials, have attracted significant interest due to their structural similarity to cuprates, leading to diverse physical properties such as magnetism, mixed valence states, and density-wave order. Recently, in the RP phase , researchers discovered superconductivity at temperatures up to 80 K. So far, superconductivity in this material has been observed only in single crystals grown under high oxygen pressure.
Absence of superconductivity and density-wave transition in ambient-pressure tetragonal La4Ni3O10 - Nature Communications
Abstract The recent discovery of superconductivity in La3Ni2O7 and La4Ni3O10 under pressure stimulates intensive research interests. These nickelates crystallize in an orthogonal/monoclinic structure and have a density-wave transition at ambient pressure. The application of pressure triggers a transition to tetragonal structure (I4/mmm), which is believed to be a key prerequisite for the emergence of superconductivity.

The timeless fall
Di Peng · Follow 13 min read · -- I never played World of Warcraft — until I met Archie. I met him on my first day moving into university dorms. We’d been assigned to the same room. As a local, the endless summer holidays had left me restless, so I’d dragged my oversized suitcase — packed with every university essential I could think of — to campus at dawn. I was certain I’d be the first to arrive. But when I pushed open the dorm door, Archie gave me my first real shock of university life.

Synthesis and superconductivity in yttrium-cerium hydrides at high pressures - Nature Communications
Abstract Further increasing the critical temperature and/or decreasing the stabilized pressure are the general hopes for the hydride superconductors. Inspired by the low stabilized pressure associated with Ce 4f electrons in superconducting cerium superhydride and the high critical temperature in yttrium superhydride, we carry out seven independent runs to synthesize yttrium-cerium alloy hydrides. The synthetic process is examined by the Raman scattering and X-ray diffraction measurements.
Multiple cis-regulatory elements control prox1a expression in distinct lymphatic vascular beds
Abstract Lymphatic vessels play a role in several physiological and pathological processes including tissue fluid homeostasis, dietary fat absorption, immunosurveillance, and immunomodulation. During embryonic development, lymphatic endothelial cell (LEC) precursors are distinguished from blood endothelial cells by the expression of the transcription factor Prospero-related homeobox 1 (PROX1). PROX1 is essential for lymphatic vascular network formation in mouse and zebrafish.

Small-sample learning reveals propionylation in determining global protein homeostasis - Nature Communications
Abstract Proteostasis is fundamental for maintaining organismal health. However, the mechanisms underlying its dynamic regulation and how its disruptions lead to diseases are largely unclear. Here, we conduct in-depth propionylomic profiling in Drosophila, and develop a small-sample learning framework to prioritize the propionylation at lysine 17 of H2B (H2BK17pr) to be functionally important. Mutating H2BK17 which eliminates propionylation leads to elevated total protein level in vivo.

Assembly-induced spin transfer and distance-dependent spin coupling in atomically precise AgCu nanoclusters - Nature Communications
Abstract Nanoparticle assembly paves the way for unanticipated properties and applications from the nanoscale to the macroscopic world. However, the study of such material systems is greatly inhibited due to the obscure compositions and structures of nanoparticles (especially the surface structures). The assembly of atomically precise nanoparticles is challenging, and such an assembly of nanoparticles with metal core sizes strictly larger than 1 nm has not been achieved yet.
Adaptive trust-region-based algorithm for the discrete eigenvalue evaluation of the direct nonlinear Fourier transform
Abstract We propose an adaptive method for numerical computation of discrete eigenvalues of the direct nonlinear Fourier transform (NFT). The approach is based on trust region algorithm and modified objective function, which can alleviate the problem of sensitivity to initial values of the Newton–Raphson method, and enhance the robustness as well as reduce the computational complexity.

Adaptive intensity transformation-based phase retrieval with high accuracy and fast convergence
Abstract Phase-retrieval (PR) receivers can reconstruct complex-valued signals from two de-correlated intensity measurements, without the assistance of any optical carriers. However, both the calculation complexity with hundreds of iterations and the limited PR accuracy prevent it from being applied to high-speed photonic interconnections. Here we propose and demonstrate a PR receiver based on adaptive intensity transformation, with the capability of both fast convergence and high accuracy.
OSA | Broadband high-resolution microwave frequency measurement based on photonic undersampling via using three cavity-less optical pulse sources with coprime repetition rates
Abstract A photonic-assisted broadband and high-resolution microwave frequency measurement scheme is proposed and demonstrated based on undersampling via using three cavity-less optical pulse sources with coprime repetition rates. After undersampling by three ultrashort pulse trains with repetition rates in the order of gigahertz, input microwave signal is down-converted to three intermediate-frequency (IF) signals located in the first Nyquist frequency range.
