A successful real estate investor, Don MacKenzie is the managing director of the UDR development entity known as RE3. Together with fellow executives at UDR, Don MacKenzie focuses on top-quality multifamily rental communities and contributes to a real estate investment trust (REIT) with a market capitalization in excess of $10 billion. MacKenzie oversees all investment activity and community development in cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Silicon Valley, Seattle and San Francisco.
Before taking up his current role at UDR, Don MacKenzie spent over a decade as the president and chief executive officer of MacKenzie House, LLC, a company he founded in Denver. During his time with the MacKenzie House, he developed more than $500 million in housing and established the enterprise as one of the fastest growing real estate businesses in Denver. Donald D. MacKenzie also worked for several years as a senior vice president with Equity Residential Properties Trust (EQR), where he attained a wealth of experience with multifamily housing developments on the West Coast.
