Trump demands Ilhan Omar be removed from Congress for being sworn in on a fake name
Is something about to happen? It feels like something is happening. Trump actually does a good job summarizing here. The search warrant executed on Ilhan Omar this week showed that she had two last names. Omar and Nur Said Elmi. The marriage certificate of Ilhan's sister Leila, which was obtained by the New York Post, reveals her maiden name was Nur Said Elmi.
Rubio says Ukraine attacked ships carrying American-owned oil
Welp... Rule Number 1 of naval warfare: American companies have been calling the State Department to complain, so this isn't just some cloudy information-war type of stuff. Rubio doesn't think Ukraine is doing this on purpose β as if incompetence is some sort of excuse. We have seen strikes on energy vessels in the Black Sea.
French newspaper blames rise in child marriages on climate change
The cases of child marriage are climbing in Europe. It seems to be everywhere. Why? This makes so much more sense than the obvious reason, which is the mass importation of barbarians who regularly marry kids in their home countries. But saying that sounds a bit mean and racist, so I guess we'll go with "the heat made them do it" instead. Thankfully, there is some sanity left in the world, though it seems to be in the comment section rather than the newsroom these days.
US State Department sanctions International Criminal Court
How about a little Reverse UNO? The International Criminal Court, most known for handing out sanctions with no teeth based on the liberal flavor of the month, has just been sanctioned by Big Marco. Here's more from Reuters on the State Department's "ironic" move: The Trump administration has long been hostile to the court founded in 2002 to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide, and has previously imposed sanctions on its prosecutors and judges.
British girl says the best part of the medieval battle tapestry found in her school's attic is "the violence"
A school in Uffington, UK, was digging through an attic and discovered a hand-stitched copy of the Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the 1066 conquest of England by our editor-in-chief's great-something-grandfather (William the Conqueror). A hand-stitched embroidery inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry has been discovered hidden in the attic of a village school. The 23ft-long (7m) artwork was found covered in cobwebs at Uffington Church of England Primary School in Lincolnshire.
Hegseth says Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey, and Newt Gingrich will lead a project to study the future of warfare
AMERICA: COMBAT EVOLVED. Featuring ... Newt Gingrich? As announced by War Sec. Hegseth during his "State of the Force" speech at Quantico on Wednesday, three men will lead this initiative. More from TechCrunch: Elon Musk, Anduril founder Palmer Luckey, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will co-lead the project. They'll be joined by others from fields such as academia and policy, all working under the direction of Defense Department CTO Emil Michael.
Iranian regime tells Americans to vote Democrat this fall
Iran's latest plan to expedite their "Death to America" plans? It's simple, vote blue! The war in Iran is unpopular, sure, but is it so unpopular that the people of America might actually listen to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard when they put out a voter guide?? (Please, don't answer that question.
Ukraine reveals "Army of Robots" plan following the deployment of kamikaze clankers behind Russian lines
Remember how they told you those robot dogs wouldn't be used in war? HAHAHAHAHAHA. That video is entirely AI-generated. It's just gloss to get more funding for war (which basically sums up the entire Ukraine conflict), so don't expect actor and comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy to be deploying SkyNet bots. (Yet.) That being said, this might be the first time a high-ranking government official has posted openly about his ambitions to mechanize war.
War Department Invites Guy Who Beat Up 58-Year-Old Mike Tyson To Pentagon
The guy who beat up 58-year-old Mike Tyson live on Netflix in 2024 visited the Pentagon last week. Yes, the War Department invited a couple of YouTubers to the Pentagon to pump up the boys! One of the YouTubers is a WWE star, and the other beat up Mike Tyson ... Logan Paul told the crowd: "We see all the men and women here who are serving this great nation.
City council renames part of Lake Erie as "Gulf of Cleveland"
I'm guessing this is either a thing of beauty or absolutely shameful, depending on who you ask. In a bold stand against being left out of the national renaming gold rush, the Cleveland City Council has officially rebranded part of Lake Erie as the Gulf of Cleveland.
Someone recreated the deadly Amazon crash in a flight simulator and pilots are asking questions
You may have seen this on Sunday: The plane went off the end of Miami International's runway and crashed into a bunch of cars: [Warning: Language] Via local NBC reports, everyone on the plane survived, but the plane killed five people in parked vehicles, and another five were taken to the hospital. Video captured the plane as it crashed just before 2 p.m. after Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said it overran runway 30 at the airport.
Milei wants Argentina to "recover" the Falkland Islands after Trump refuses to back the UK
Well, the UK won't help us out in Iran, so Trump won't commit to helping them maintain the Falkland Islands off Argentina. And now we have this: Looks like Argentina might take back the Falkland Islands and formally rename them "Islas Malvinas." President Milei says Argentina needs to "recover" the islands, and he told his countrymen not to stand idly by and to "show a united front to the world." Britain has controlled the islands since 1833, and there was a brief war over them in 1982.
Germany just had rocket attacks on two power stations and I bet you'll never guess who the suspects are
Any time a piece of infrastructure blows up in Western Europe these days, you've pretty much got a short list of the culprits. You don't have to look far to figure out who did it. As The Telegraph reports, Germany is doing a little rounding up of its own right now: German police have opened a terror investigation after two attacks on power stations, and a bombing at a railway station, within 24 hours.
Trump jokes that he might rename the Strait of Hormuz "Trump Strait"
When this man trolls, he usually delivers. Lets check: Maybe his negative-ish response there is simply due to the name itself. We'll rename the whole world America, one step at a time! ๐บ๐ธ Either way, if we get another body of water's name changed under this president, I'll be casting my 2028 ballot with Trump's name on it, write-in or not. ๐ I'll leave this here: Watch our latest video ๐
Pete Hegseth created a firestorm by sharing this photo of a Canadian cadet program
At first, with this whole trade war thingy that's going on with Canada, I wasn't really scared of Canada. (Sorry, not sorry!) The Vernon Cadet Training Centre in British Columbia prepares youth aged 12-18 in the principles of being a warrior. Founded in 1912, the camp trained cavalry and infantry units in warfare and discipline for many decades before it became a summer training camp for teens.
Oil prices jump as US hits first Iranian targets since July
Donald Trump does some trolling 👇 If you don't know why Kharg Island is important, here's Forbes: 90%. That is the amount of Iran's oil exports that are processed on Kharg Island, making it a strategically critical island for the country. Located in the northern part of the Persian Gulf, it houses nearly 20,000 people, most of whom are oil workers, and features three major energy infrastructure hubs.
Feminist NY Gov Wears Hijab To Speak To Muslim Men Two Weeks Before 25th Anniversary Of 9/11
This is an instant classic right here ūüĎá I mean, if you wanted to be in The Handmaid's Tale film, you could've just asked for a part! This isn't Hochul's first rodeo with The Handmaid's Tale attire. It just keeps getting better! Wild times we live in, folks. Hochul was speaking at the Islamic Cultural Center School in the Bronx on Friday when she donned The Handmaid's Tale outfit.
Trump signs order creating the United States Space Academy
Do not adjust your sets. This is not science fiction. After the establishment of Space Force during Trump's first term, the president has gone to the next level in his efforts to make the United States the best nation in the galaxy "Space Academy" is no longer a cheesy '80s TV series, or a camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Now it is one of the United States military academies, like Army, Navy, and Air Force. And unlike Paramount's "Starfleet Academy" with the gay Klingon "Jay-den," it won't be woke.
Report: UK gives mental health services to government workers who are afraid of the English flag
Why am I not surprised by this? One official said the flag was 'particularly triggering'. Another said: 'I'm terrified of bringing a mixed race child into this world.' Journalist Steven Edginton originally posted this article, and we're very glad he did so. Home Office civil servants said the English flag was 'triggering' and made them fear for their lives, a leaked recording reveals.
Dems are clipping this Mike Johnson quote without context, but you can see why
Remember when conservatives thought war costs lots and lots of money? Well, Speaker Mike Johnson had something interesting to say. You'll note that they cut this clip of Johnson during his visit to Michigan's capital on Tuesday at a particular point. Johnson is not breaking ranks with the Trump admin. Here's the full quote: If you look at it, we were doing that the first quarter of this year and then we got into this conflict with Iran. Now look, we had to act.
The low water levels on the Danube are revealing more than just sunken ships. Bodies of Nazi soldiers have now been found.
You may have seen reports this month about the skeletons of Nazi warships that can be seen now that Europe's Danube River is at a historic low. Well, as it turns out, we are finding the skeletons of men out there too. The bodies of two World War Two German soldiers have been found in Budapest's Danube river, due to record-low water levels after an intense drought.
London mayor race-baits critics after black professor’s apparent suicide
Crazy. If you missed it, Jason Arday was a darling of the woke Left who was celebrated as the youngest black man to every be hired at Cambridge. In recent weeks, however, the sociologist's academic work and resumé came into sharp scrutiny. Stealing significant portions of his 2015 PhD thesis from Paula Zwozdiak-Myers's 2009 thesis (more than 100 passages). Multiple cases of verbatim copying or light paraphrasing in published papers that caused academic journals to issues corrections and updates.

Do you or someone you know have dirty feet and also happen to be at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport? Then, boy, do I have good news for you! Yes, soon you'll be able to wash your feet at the wudu station in Terminal D, which is conveniently located near the prayer space by Gate D40. What is a wudu station, though? Well, it's a place to wash your feet before performing Islamic prayer.
South Carolina Military Base Named After Lindsey Graham
The military base formerly known as Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina has been named after the late Lindsey Graham. To state the obvious, Graham would absolutely love this. Dude spent 33 years in the military and his time in Washington as a politician was spent with the military always in mind. Here's Treasury Secretary Bessent: Joint Base Graham is the backbone of Air Force's C-17 fleet, the workhorse of our air defense...
Trump touts "DronePort" on roof of new White House ballroom after court ruling stalls construction
The courts struck down Trump's new White House ballroom last week, saying Trump needed congressional approval to demolish the East Wing. But Trump has some thoughts. Let's see that beauty again: Trump posted that on Friday night after the court ruling. He also posted this: Our country needs security, but judges must not like that or something. Trump's White House will likely ask the Supreme Court to review the ruling. I'll leave you with another based Trump post: Watch our latest video 👇
Woke astronomer warns lunar colonizers that moon is part of “indigenous sky country”
You thought woke was dead, but it turns out it's gone to the moon. Well look, the moon is something that has fascinated us. It's deeply rooted to Indigenous sky country and storytelling and so we want to respect the fact that this is not just something for us to go and explore, as amazing as that is. So I think it's actually a big focus for global space regulation as well as understanding Australia's growing role in space exploration.
Jasmine Crockett says black women are "the most educated demographic in this country"
No offense, black women, but this is one of the most hilarious things Jasmine Crockett has ever said. When they decided to go after 'DEI,' Black women, the most educated demographic in this country, somehow ended up the most unemployed out of everyone. Less than 30% of black women have a bachelor's degree, even with the huge push to exclude whites and Asians from colleges in the past decade.
These foreigners at the WWII Memorial fountain have caused quite the stir online
Washington DC World War II Dumb Tourists Amazing stuff happening in Washington, DC. Imagine going to DC and heading to the World War II Memorial to pay your respects to the American men who died overseas ... and seeing this. The sign in the video makes it clear, you can sit on the water's edge, even dip your feet in, but not walk or play in the pool.
Man who stabbed three women in Paris today says Allah "ordered" him to do it
Ah, the City of Love! Paris seems to be a bit different these days. On Monday morning near Porte de Clichy, a man armed with two kitchen knives decided to go full "Allahu Akbar" on three women — one of them pregnant — stabbing them in the street. Two of them are in critical condition. Let's see if we can figure out why this chap decided to stabby stab: More from GB News: A pregnant woman is among three injured in a Paris attack as the knifeman was heard shouting 'Allah ordered me to do it'.
President Trump imposes new tariffs on 60 countries that use forced labor
I can't wait to see Democrats defend slavery to explain why this is bad. π Here's CBS News on the punishing tariffs from Trump: The Trump administration imposed tariffs of up to 12.5% Friday on goods from 60 U.S. trading partners it accused of failing to crack down on forced labor. The move, announced Thursday, extended the administration's tariffs on much of the world.
NOT SATIRE: United Airlines Will Let Libs Switch Flights If They Don’t Want To Land At New Donald J. Trump Airport
There's Trump Derangement Syndrome, then there's whatever this is. Imagine having a flight to West Palm Beach, but you have such insane TDS that you fly to Miami instead. But apparently, this is enough of a problem that United now has a policy for it after the airport's name change last week.
Biden dumped nearly $500 MILLION into this artillery plant that still hasn't squeezed out a single round after two years
I wonder if Joe Biden mentions this failure in his new autopenned book: The year was 2024, the Ukraine-Russia war had been going on for a good two years, and our brilliant federal government decided the solution was to throw half a billion dollars at a shiny new plant ... and then watch it sit there and collect dust. According to a Pentagon watchdog report, the U.S. shelled out $469 million to General Dynamics for a "critical" artillery facility in Mesquite, Texas.
Trump to charge 20% fee on all cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz
I am not sure if this plan is insane or genius. Here is Trump's announcement: The logic is that America should receive compensation for acting as the worldโs police (what we've essentially done for 80 years). International shipping routes remain open and free because of the efforts of the U.S. Navy.
Does Scan still offer free shipping for AVF users?
#1 Scan used to offer AVF forum users fress shipping, is this still the case? If so, how do you link accounts? #2 Yes it does/did as I ordered items last year. Think I went through link in this forum.
Pranksters Punk Just Stop Oil By Delivering Balloons Tied To Screeching Alarms
Written by Edward Teach on Jul 28, 2023. Posted in Latest news Just Stop Oil loves to block traffic so someone decided to block their meeting. [emphasis, links added] [Headphone users: Volume Down] These undercover journalists in England (well, YouTube citizen journalists) decided it was time for normal people to take their sweet, sweet revenge. I LOVE that the climate wackos tried to use a ladder [pictured above]. 😂 These lads have NEVER used a ladder before in their life. Maybe never even seen one.
The Rise of Political Risk
“Can you recall a time when there was so much trouble in so many different places around the world?” asked CBS newsman Bob Schieffer earlier this year on the TV program Face the Nation. “There are an awful lot of things going on that need understanding and explanation,” responded his guest, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. “But to put it mildly, the world is a mess.” A mess with many repercussions for companies doing business overseas.
New Orleans Questions - Restaurants - New Orleans
Hi! I'll be visiting NOLA at the end on March. Have most of my meals planned, but need help with a couple. Would like to go to Coop's Place on Saturday, March 28th. Since they don't take reservations, (and I'd like to have some flexibility anyway) will it be most likely be mobbed and have a long wait? Would an early arrival (6:00? 6:30?) help? I don't really want to have to wait an hour or more to be seated. Any other suggestions for some place casual and moderately priced in that general area?

Vision Quest
When it comes to CFOs and strategy, everything old is new again. The appearance of the “strategic CFO” can be traced back more than two decades. Asked by CFO in 1994 what qualities finance chiefs should have, CEOs said that strategic thinking topped the list. Five years later, in our survey of 500 chief executives, strategic vision was deemed a more desirable quality for a CFO than industry experience and capital-raising expertise.

The 2016 CFO State Tax Survey From a tax perspective, the 50 states are in better shape today than they were before the Great Recession. Adjusted for inflation, they collected 5.6% more tax revenue in mid-2015 than at the peak in the third quarter of 2008, according to the Pew Charitable Trusts. But the recovery has been uneven. More than 20 states still collect less tax revenue than they did at their prerecession peaks, says Pew, as economic conditions vary widely across the country.
Rethinking Disclosure
In December 2013, the Securities and Exchange Commission sent a report to Congress on Regulation S-K, the disclosure rules for public companies. Although its JOBS Act mandate was to investigate ways to simplify the registration process for so-called emerging growth companies, the SEC concluded its report by calling for a comprehensive review of the disclosure regime for all public companies.
Activists at the Gate
Your company could be doing better. The stock is in the doldrums, and the price-to-book ratio is low. On a variety of financial measures — shareholder returns, revenue growth, operational costs, and so on — the company is underperforming its peers. Cash flow is reasonably healthy, but one of the divisions is starting to falter. Adding insult to injury, management won the last say-on-pay vote by less than a large margin. Your company, in short, is a prime target for an activist hedge fund.
Your Participation is Mandatory: The INDY’s 2016 Primary Endorsements
As we write this, we don't know the results of Super Tuesday's primaries. But we do know that, regardless of what's happening at the top of the ticket, the March 15 elections are vital for North Carolina's future: they'll help determine not only who claims the governor's office and the Council of State, but also whether the Democrats will chip away at the Republican supermajority in the state House.
